The Earth Globe & Fender Stratocaster are your next LEGO Ideas set!

In an video on LEGO Ideas, the Ideas team have announced that Disneybrick55‘s Earth Globe has been selected as the next LEGO Ideas set!

Beating out 26 other submissions that were being reviewed, competition was tight, and I think it’s a superb choice that will again explore a new type of model that we haven’t seen before.

For Sonic fans, hope is not lost as the LEGO Ideas mentioned that Sonic Mania – Green Hill Zone is still under consideration, which pretty much means they’re likely to be still in commercial discussions with Sega for the rights.

Additionally, the winner of the Music to Our Ears contest was announced, with the Legendary Stratocaster being selected, and will be turned into an actual set!

So not bad, 2 and a half sets passing review! Let me know what you think of the selections in the comments!

Personally, I’m really happy with the globe (it will look so nice next to the Ship in a Bottle set), but slightly gutted that Futurama didn’t make it.

Also, if you’re reading this and were somehow thinking of getting the Diagon Alley set, it’s had a sneaky restock on LEGO Australia!

Wow! I haven’t been following the “Music to our ears” competition, but the Stratocaster would be a great model.

The only problem for me is what colour will they have?

From Clapton’s “Blackie”, to Hendrix’s Olympic White “Woodstock” strat, to Buddy Holly’s Sunburst, to my own personal favourite Hank Marvin’s Fiesta Red stratocaster, there’s so many iconic guitars to choose from, they could even release it as a range in it’s own right.

I think the only one that they probably wouldn’t do (but maybe a MOC would adapt) is Eddie Van Halen’s “Frankenstrat”, a customised version with Gibson pickups (and I believe he replaced the “Fender” logo with a Gibson one)

So happy with this choice. I would’ve preferred the waterfall, or the ruined house (did you see the parts usage on that kit?!? Just amazing!), but I’m just so happy Lego didn’t go down the path of another IP kit. ?

I love The Globe, that’s going to be a must-buy! How long does it take for Ideas sets to reach the shops, as I recall there being a Winnie the Pooh Ideas winner, but can’t recall seeing that mentioned again.

Thanks for heads up on the Diagon Alley set being stocked!
