Before you buy it, check out my review of 21338 A-Frame Cabin to see more photos, and how it looks alongside the Ideas Tree House as well!
Cosy vibes and Earthy-tones are the main focus in the set, inspired by A-framed log cabins that you’d expect to find in the remote wilderness, making this a perfect retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
It’s quite a sizable set, with its dimensions coming in at 28cm / 11” high, and 44cm / 17.5” wide.
I just love that it looks so incredibly rustic, and charming and has more or less kept the original vision and concept from fan designer Andrea Lattanzio intact, with then only real deviation being the design of the trees – which is a lot less intricate and dense, probably due to LEGO’s requirements for stability.
As you’d expect from a model that has the themes of nature at it’s core, there are plenty of woodland critters and LEGO animals included, such as a red and blue bird, frog, otter and a squirrel, in addition to 4 minifigures.
I was also delighted to see the use of Thor Hammers for the stone foundation beneath the cabin make its way into the finished set!
Here’s a look at how the A-Frame Cabin opens up, with the steep roofs seemingly appearing to just rest on the sides without any direct connections to the frame of the cabin.
On to the interiors, there’s a bedroom on the upper level of the cabin, which has a really cool Easter Egg – a (likely) stickered tile with fan designer Andrea Lattanzio’s other MOC, The Blue Cottage!
Nature and the great outdoors are key themes here, and I love the slice of woodland forest, and all the curious creatures that one would encounter along the way as the cabin’s inhabitants go for their nature hike.
Oh, and as extra bonus, there’s also a new printed butterfly element (the first appeared in 80110 Lunar New Year Display), with a new pattern that looks like a cross between an Atlas Butterfly and a Common Buckeye. I’m no entomologist or butterfly expert, but I’m learning more towards the Common Buckeye being the inspiration between this new butterfly.
This set is absolutely geared for display, and thanks to LEGO’s supplied images, we can get a really good idea of how just how great the A-Frame cabin looks.

After poring over the photos, I think it’s absolutely undeniable that LEGO have another hit on their hands, and with such intricate aesthetics, and what I’m expecting to be a phenomenal build experience, you probably won’t need much convincing to get the LEGO A-Frame Cabin when it launches.
21338 A-Frame Cabin will be available on 1 February 2023 for LEGO VIPs from LEGO.com, ahead of a 4 February general release.
I can’t wait to share my review of the set when it’s done, so keep an eye out for it before launch! It’s one you definitely don’t want to miss!
What do you think of the LEGO A-Frame Cabin? Will this be going on your 2023 LEGO wishlist?
