It may seem like a lifetime ago, but after the fiasco that was the launch of the LEGO Ulysses Space Probe in April 2021, LEGO are restocking this Limited Edition VIP reward on 17 May 2022!
If your memory is fuzzy, the NASA Ulysses Space Probe was launched in very limited quantities as a LEGO VIP Reward alongside the 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery. It very quickly sold out, leading to incredible frustration from fans who missed out, and was one of the bigger LEGO controversies in 2021.
Thankfully, all the uproar that you the fans have made was effective, as LEGO have announced via emails going out to LEGO VIP members that you’ll have a second chance to redeem the LEGO Ulysses Space Probe.
Here are the times where the set will appear in the LEGO VIP Rewards Centre, redeemable for 1,800 points.
LEGO Ulysses Space Probe Availability by region:
- Australian and New Zealand: 17th May 09.00am AEST / 11.00am NZST
- South Korea: 17th May 09.00am KST
- Europe: 17th May 09.00am CEST / 08.00am BST
- United States and Canada: 17th May 09.00am EDT
Do note that there will only be a limited number available, so if you already redeemed the code in 2021, you will not be able to double dip and get a second.
Like all VIP rewards, you’ll redeem it and receive a code, which “secures” your Ulysses Space Probe, to be used with your next purchase on the online LEGO Store. The code is only valid for 60 days.
With the impending release of the next LEGO Gift with Purchase, 40533 Cosmic Cardboard Adventures, you might be able to score both of them if you plan on making an order, especially if you missed out last year and want to add this to your collection.
LEGO gets a lot of things wrong, but this is a really nice gesture to bring this back, to remedy some of the consumer dissatisfaction from last year’s botched launch. It only took them 12 months, but I’m glad they did, to give others who missed out a second chance.
