The reissued LEGO 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V rocket is now available! ?

LEGO knows when it’s on to a good thing, which is why they’ve re-released one of the best LEGO sets of the decade – the NASA Apollo Saturn V rocket!

Not much has changed – the new re-issued set has a new set number (92176), but from what I can tell, the number of parts (1969 to commemorate Apollo 11 and the moon landing) and everything else remains the same – even the price – which is the same as 2017!

Here’s the links to the set on LEGO.com:

Want to see more of the set and why it ranks as one of the finest LEGO sets ever produced, be sure to read my review of the 2017 version.

The Saturn V isn’t the only Ideas set being re-issued – the Ship in a Bottle is also available (only in the US for now) to purchase, with a new set number!

With Christmas coming up, it’s a great time to pick-up the Saturn V, especially if you missed out, or are new to LEGO.

The Saturn V is one of the most exceptional sets ever created, and a blast to build and display – it’s legacy as one of the best LEGO sets ever is completely deserved, and I’m really glad LEGO decided to bring it back so you don’t have to overpay on the secondary market to own 1969 pieces of LEGO (and human) history.

There is but a single part change between 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V and 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V — in the lunar lander module, step 306 (page 181), the gray 2 x 4 plate is exchanged for one with holes. Strangely, the parts list at the end of the instructions was completely re-arranged making it impractical to use that list to spot the change.

Saturn V instructions: Is there a problem with step 156, pg. 110. I can’t fit the 4 cylindrical pieces as indicated.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing news! When will you do Series 20?

  4. Andy says:

I picked up a Saturn V when it was being discontinued at the start of the year and it now stands pride of place on my desk.

It is by far the best Lego set I’ve ever built, which is surprising for something that is essentially a giant cylinder, but the internal construction is amazing.

All I can say is that if anyone is still on the fence is to get this set!

Thanks for the heads up Jay! I bought this set a few years ago and set it aside for a holiday build. It then vanished without a trace….I suspect foul play. I am thus overjoyed to be able to another one and this time will keep an eye on it!
