With 2022 coming to a close, I thought it’d be interesting to take a look at some of the most-read articles this year, beginning with the bread and butter of the blog – LEGO set reviews!
2022 has been a high point for LEGO, combining its 90th Anniversary celebrations with an absolute onslaught of LEGO sets being released, including some major surprises that were never thought possible like LEGO Optimus Prime.
In total, 91 LEGO Set and Minifigure reviews were published in 2022, which is an all-time high, equating to a new review every 4 days! It’s been an absolute privilege getting to deep dive into the awesome lineup of LEGO releases, and I’m definitely aiming to cross the 100 Set Review mark in 2023, to fulfil the blog’s mission of helping you make LEGO buying decisions.
Discover all the LEGO set reviews in the Jay’s Brick Blog Review Hub!
I’d also like to acknowledge the contribution of Vaderfan, who’s come on as a LEGO Star Wars and Speed Champions correspondent, helping to increase the output of set reviews throughout the year.
In total, we’ve had over 1.6 million views across all LEGO set reviews in 2022 (not counting the last 7 days of the year, obviously), which almost doubled 2021’s view count!
To put that into perspective, people have collectively spent 1,389 days reading LEGO reviews on the blog in 2022!
A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who read a LEGO set review in 2022, shared them on social media, and commented and shared your thoughts on them. It’s been an absolute honour, and I hope to continue to build on the momentum, improve the quality and do more in 2023!
Don’t forget, the seeding votes for the Best Set of 2022 Elimination Tournament are still open, so be sure to nominate your favourite set of 2022, theme and minifigures before public votes open tomorrow!

I know it’s too late to add a nomination, I just wanted to say thank you for including the lego friends advent calendar (41706) in your blog. I was a little lost the first few days until I realized there was a diagram on the inside flap. My 5 year old had opened and closed the flaps, so I missed key information. During a search for instructions I found your blog. I know it’s likely these cute little lego friends sets are fringe in communities like this, likely not taken as seriously. In our house this little advent calendar helped me make space in a busy day to sit and focus on what my kids enjoys. Thank you for your work!
A pleasure to read your reviews, Jay. Whilst I don’t always decide to buy or not based on the reviews, they give me a more informed heads-up of what to expect and whether it’s worth plonking down the cash on day 1. Thanks for all your hard work during the year, thanks to your family for helping out with your passion and giving you the time to publish this blog. We all certainly appreciate it.
Best of the holiday season to you and your family.
