First look at LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame and Mona Lisa Art set!

LEGO has just unveiled the two Parisian Icons, with the LEGO Architecture 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris and a new addition to the LEGO Art collection with 31213 Mona Lisa.

Update: Check out my review of 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris and see why I gave it a perfect score.

The 4,383-piece LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris is a stunning re-creation of one of the most iconic cathedrals in the world and will be released on 1 June 2024, with pre-orders opening today on LEGO.com.

The 1,503-piece LEGO Art 31213 Mona Lisa is a unique take on Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, using an ingenious combination of plates, tiles and colour to bring the Mona Lisa to life. It’s definitely a really unique take on a LEGO Art set, and also features a gorgeous gold frame, just like how it’s presented in the Louvre.

The piece count is also a nice little Easter Egg to the date that historians think the Mona Lisa was painted by Da Vinci.

The LEGO Art Mona Lisa set will only be released on 1 October 2024, but pre-orders are open today on LEGO.com

See below for regional pricing and product pages:

The LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame set is just stunning. At 4,383 pieces, it’s the largest LEGO Architecture set ever, eclipsing 21010: Robie House by almost double. It’s also the most expensive LEGO Architecture set of all time, although an argument could be made that Robie House is more expensive when you account for inflation.

LEGO Notre-Dame Architecture set measures over 13 in. (33 cm) high, 8.5 in. (22 cm) wide and 16 in. (41 cm) deep and also features detailed interiors, that you can peek into by removing the roof.

Designed by Rok Zgalin Kobe (who also worked on the Eiffel Tower), he considers this model his masterpiece. I actually got a preview of the set last September when I was in Billund, Denmark for RLFM Days! Here are some photos I took during the unveiling.

The building experience and instruction booklet takes the builder on a journey through the architectural evolution of this iconic Parisian landmark, beginning in 1163, when the first stone was laid, through architect Viollet-le-Duc’s redesign work in the 19th century to Notre-Dame’s majestic appearance before the fire of 2019.

For the LEGO Mona Lisa Art set, it’s a really bold and unique interpretation made up of 1,503 LEGO pieces. New colour hues are present, to accurately reflect the colours used by da Vinci over 500 years ago, before the paint changed with age, which explains why it feels a little off when you look at the set.

The LEGO Mona Lisa was designed by Milan Madge!

21061 Notre-Dame de Paris will be released on 1 June 2024 and 31213 Mona Lisa will be released on 1 October 2024. You can pre-order both sets on LEGO.com now, although you should wait to see if there’s a decent gift with purchase offer or double points to make the most of your purchase.

What do you think of the LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame and Mona Lisa? Will you be planning to add these to your collection?

  1. Susan says:

I didn’t know LEGO was planning a portrait of Jimmy Carr. Nice!

  2. Andrew H says:

I am really glad LEGO decided to do the Notre Dame, especially since they are expecting to reopen for the summer olympic games in Paris! Great timing!
Now I need to figure out how to display the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Maybe different shelves. Also, the Mona Lisa looks amazing!

  3. Håkan says:

The sentence about the “New colour hues…” sounds mostly like corporate mumbo-jumbo, but I wonder if this means we would get some actual bricks in the new skintones that were released quite recently.

  4. Bricker Billy says:

That’s a very nice portrait of Weird Al.

  5. John Cooper says:

It would be better and morea realistic if there were flame pieces to the notre dam and the spire falling

  6. Kaktusiarz says:

Talking about the size of Notre Dame set please don’t forget about https://brickset.com/sets/10253-1/Big-Ben which in fact was an Architecture set.

Jay I dont know if you noticed but i left a comment on the ornithopter review saying that i ordered one, but it turned up!

  8. Me says:

I kinda feel the same. For such a huge set it’s very… plain. They captured NONE of the grandeur of the front face.

  9. Gerry says:

You can also pre-order in the US – I just did.

  10. Nancy says:

OH, Notre Dame is getting acquired – no doubt. It will go well with my Eiffel!!

  11. SnowyCheetah2 says:

WOW! LEGO Has really stepped up their “adult” game with first the Milky Way, then the Tuxedo cat (def my fave!) and now these 2!
Notre Dame looks simply phenomenal and brings back some fun memories of Mass there.
Overall the Mona Lisa looks nice too and I love the use of color – her nose seems flat and it almost looks bigger than the actual painting itself though! 😂😝

  12. Alejandra Campos says:

Notre Dame looks amazing! Interesting take on the Mona Lisa
    Both will sell a lot!

  13. Sean says:

The Lego doesn’t really capture the elegance and finesse of Notre Dame and the buttresses particularly look disproportionately thick, unfortunately.
