Spoiler Warning: First photos of LEGO Ideas 21303 Wall-E
Avert your eyes if you don’t want spoilers of the upcoming LEGO Ideas Wall-E set! Korean LUG, BrickInside have received an advance copy of 21303 Wall-E and it is adorable beyond belief!
Update: Here’s my review of LEGO 21303 Wall-E!
UPDATE: Looks like my guesstimate was right on the money! Wall-E’s Australian price is $69.99! Check out the link to the LEGO.com page, where it will be available for purchase on 1 September.
Update: Looks like the Korean review was removed.
Update: The LEGO Ideas blog has officially announced the Wall-E set! Not a lot of new information other than a confirmed release date of 1 September. No Australian price yet but LEGO Wall-E will cost $49.99 / EUR 49,99 respectively! I’m expecting the Australian retail price to be $69.99.
For more pictures, be sure to check out the BrickInside review or an album I uploaded on my Facebook page!
The finished model looks to be decently sized, measuring 17 cm wide and about 21 cm tall when his head is stretched to its maximum height.
According to the review, the LEGO Wall-E’s release date will be 1 September 2015. With full sets being sent out to LUGs and probably large LEGO websites like Brickset, I’ve got a good feeling that the release date is accurate.
I’m so glad that the tiles are printed instead of stickers which is a huge huge win.
There also seems to be a ton of playability and play features built into Wall-E, allowing you to pose him in a variety of different stances.
If there’s one letdown, I’ll have to say that there’s no LEGO cockroach 🙁
Special thanks to Mark for pointing out that there IS a LEGO cockroach included! He’s been hiding in the pictures all along and is that little black 1 x 2 plate with an antenna!
It all looks incredible and I cannot wait for it to go on sale to get my hands on it. The new LEGO Ideas set, Big Bang Theory is on its way to me right now so look out for a review as soon as it shows up on my front door!
Official Product Description:
Build, display and role play with WALL•E! Construct the LEGO® Ideas version of WALL•E with posable neck, adjustable head and arms, gripping hands, opening trunk and rolling tracks.
Build a beautifully detailed LEGO® version of WALL•E—the last robot left on Earth! Created by Angus MacLane, an animator and director at Pixar Animation Studios, and selected by LEGO Ideas members, the development of this model began alongside the making of the lovable animated character for the classic Pixar feature film. It has taken almost a decade to perfect the LEGO version, which incorporates many authentic WALL•E characteristics, including a posable neck, adjustable head, arms that move up and down and side to side, plus gripping hands and rolling tracks. With a trunk that opens and closes, you can tidy up the planet one pile of garbage at a time! This set also includes a booklet about the designer and the animated Pixar movie.
By the way, apologies for my brief hiatus. I’ve been incredibly busy at work and haven’t had a lot of time to spend building or writing but my workload is easing up and I should be back into the swing of things soon!
Thanks for sending all your emails and for connecting with me on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)!
