Australian LEGO Sales February 2016
With all the new 2016 LEGO sets beginning to populate the shelves, it was only a matter of time before retailers begin luring us in all sorts of LEGO sales and offers.
Here’s the Australian LEGO Sales February 2016 post. If you’re new to this, I typically compile all sales and promotions in a month in one post (I don’t really like to clutter my blog feed with multiple posts) so check back here to find out if there’s any sales running. Big W (Catalogue Link 25 February – 2 March)
It’s been a pretty slow start to the year for LEGO sales, which isn’t the best since all the new 2016 sets are there just sitting on the shelves. Big W has a catalogue going on this week with selected Friends and City sets for sale.
Here’s a pricing comparison using the set’s real RRP to give you an idea of how much you stand to save.
The Friends sets are decent, but nothing too noteworthy. What’s interesting is that Big W have dropped the regular price for the small City sets to a flat $10. This also applies to older sets not featured in the catalogue such as 60072 Demolition Starter Set, 60077 Space Starter Set and 60091 Deep Sea Starter Set. $10 is a fantastic price for 4 minifigs and some random parts.
I can definitely see myself making several “impulse” buys just because. In the catalogue, I will definitely be picking up the Rally Car set. Great value!
Format: $sale price | $RRP (percentage discount)
Friends
- 41111 Party Train – $12 | $16 (25%)
- 41118 Heartlake Supermarket – $35 | $45 (22%)
- 41110 Birthday Party – $29| $30 (20%)
City
- 60106 Fire Starter Set – $10| $16 (37.5%)
- 60127 Prison Island Starter Set – $10| $16 (37.5%)
- 60113 Rally Car – $10| $16 (37.5%)
- 60114 Race Boat – $10| $16 (37.5%)
Myer (10 – 14 February)
Love is in the air with Myer. In the leadup to Valentines Day, Myer has 20% off ALL LEGO! Easy, simple and it couldn’t come at a better time.
You can browse their selection online although not all the new sets and themes are listed online yet. That said, there’s new LEGO City, Star Wars and Ninjago for sale online.
Update: The sale is in-store as well!
The sale runs until Sunday, 14 February at 11:59pm. Not sure if this sale is in-store at the moment, but I have a feeling it is. In-store should have a larger range of sets, with the new Friends, Nexo Knights, Creator and DC Super Heroes all out on the shelves at the Myer stores I’ve been to.
It’s a great opportunity to pick up the new sets if you’ve been holding off on a sale! If you were waiting to snap up the Star Wars Battle of Takodana set, now’s a good time to grab it at great value. Series 15 minifigures should also be $4, so army build away!
UPDATE: Thanks to the heads up from @hellobenteoh! Myer also has 20% off all LEGO on their eBay store which you can also combine with the promo code CRUSHONYOU for an extra 10% off if you spend $100 or more. There isn’t a large selection of sets on the eBay store as its mostly old 2015 sets but one of the highlights is the LEGO Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart which you can snag for $236.
That’s it for now, watch this space for more February 2016 LEGO sales!
