LEGO Fast and Furious 42111 Dom’s Dodge Charger revealed!

Time to crack open a cold bottle of Corona and drink to 42111 Dom’s Dodge Charger – the very first LEGO Fast and Furious set.

Targeted at fans of the high-octane Fast & Furious franchise, now you get to assemble Dominic Toretto’s 1970’s Dodge Charger R/T.

The 1,077-piece set is available for pre-order from 30 March 2020 (pretty much immediately), followed by a release date of 27 April 2020. The set will be priced at US$99.99 in the US and AU$179.99 in Australia.

Sadly, the set doesn’t come with a bald Dom Toretto minifigure.

See below for regional links and pricing when the product pages are up:

I’m not a massive Technic fan, but the build looks really particularly solid, capturing the touch masculine features of the Dodge Charger particularly well.

The authentic replica of Dom’s all-time favourite car is packed with the same realistic details seen in the films. Just like the full-size version, the hood of the LEGO® Technic™ Dom’s Dodge Charger pops open to reveal the iconic V8 engine.

Fans can feel like they’re in the garage with Dom fixing up his latest project as they build moving pistons, double wishbone suspension, a wheelie bar to show off the car’s best moves and (of course) put the nitro bottles in the trunk. If things get too hot, there’s a fire extinguisher in the cockpit too.

Fans of classic American muscle cars and LEGO Techic will undoubtedly love this set and I do like the pricing which isn’t too prohibitive, but I’ll mostly pass on this one.

What do you think of Dom’s Dodge Charger? Will it find space in your LEGO garage or display shelf?

This would have made a gorgeous system scale set. I’m not a fan of the technic styling.

    • Jay says:

Yeah, a Creator Expert-scale set would be pretty nice as well, but this does make sense. I love that the price isn’t too unobtainable.

  2. Ian Hazlehurst says:

OMG YES! Not sure about the Tecnic styling but as Mark.P says will look great next to my Ford Mustang.

    • Jay says:

I’m not a massive Technic or American Muscle Car fan, so I’ll most likely sit this one out, but I am really looking forward to the Technic Lambo!

  3. Mark P says:

So excited! It’s a cheesy one, but it’ll look magnificent next to last year’s Mustang (also with the supercharger poking out the bonnet).
If I hadn’t have just been made redundant due to Coronavirus, it’d be a day 1 purchase. Unfortunately, it’ll have to go into my wish list. ?

    • Jay says:

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been made redundant. That’s really rough and I hope that you and your family are doing okay.

I’ve had my work situation impacted as well, so I know how you feel. LEGO can wait – you got to look after yourself first, and hopefully things improve soon for all of us.

      • Mark P says:

Yeah, no stress. We’ll all just lay low for a few months, catch up on some kits that we haven’t built yet. 2nd kid is arriving in June, so we’ll have our hands full then! So it’s kind of a big blessing in disguise, we’ve got lots of time now to get the nursery ready, get some baby proofing done, etc, rather than trying to squeeze everything in on weekends. Not to mention the older one’s school is definitely online next term, and he needs supervision for that (preppie).
It really sucks how much this pandemic is affecting everyone, I’ve heard word that a favourite local Lego shop is going under due to this, fingers crossed that’s just a rumour.
