Westfield Doncaster is the location of Melbourne’s first LEGO Certified Store

UPDATE: The Doncaster LEGO Store is now open! Check out my first impressions and photos of the store in my newest blog post.

Alceon Group is moving very quickly. Guys, it’s confirmed (via Seek of all places), Westfield Doncaster will be the site of Melbourne’s first LEGO Certified Store!

Here’s a snap of the boarding outside the Doncaster LEGO Store, courtesy of Ivy C from Facebook – the store is located near the children’s playground near Big W.

Last month, Alceon Group announced that they would be opening up to five more LEGO Certified Stores across the country before Christmas.

Thanks to Justin C for the tip!

This follows the confirmed Broadway store in NSW. Judging by the job ads, it also looks like the Gold Coast store is also going full-steam ahead.

My guess is that the Gold Coast Store will be located at Westfield Coomera, one of the shiniest new Westfields in the country.

If you want to get a job at the LEGO Certified Store, you can check out the job listings on Seek!

I saw it and it was AMAZING!!

Any word on when the store is opening?

Westfield Doncaster pitches itself as an upmarket shopping destination and it’s in an affluent suburb with a large Chinese population. China is The Lego Group’s largest growth market so the location is no surprise. It’s also nestled amongst some other ‘lifestyle’ brands such as Apple and Nespresso.

I’m surprised it’s at Doncaster, with the small retail shop at Chadstone I would have expected them to look at something more like Highpoint or even Werribee. That way the other side of the city is served and Highpoint is a lot more enticing for people in Geelong or Ballarat to think of tracking up for a look. Personally haven’t been out to Doncaster Westfield in about 15yrs, so no idea how big it is now, but wouldn’t something in the ever expanding Western and North Western suburbs have been better?

Not when the inner east have more ppl with more disposable income to spend on large exclusive sets. It’s all about potential profit at the end of the day. Do they have a Apple store in Werribee yet?

It doesn’t make much sense that the Gold Coast Store would be at Westfield Coomera, since it is basically just up the road from the Dreamworld Store. It would make much more sense to have it at Australia Fair or Pacific Fair, or maybe Robina, closer to the centre of the Gold Coast population, and far enough away from Dreamworld that it wouldn’t affect sales too much.
