LEGO VIP Weekend offers are now live!

LEGO’s pre-Black Friday VIP weekend offers are now live in Australia! For the rest of the world, the offers should go live just after midnight (00.01am) in your time zone.

From 21-22 November, you’ll enjoy Double VIP points on all purchases, but the real drawcards are the promotional sets.

Check out your respective VIP Weekend offers for your country below:

40140 Charles Dickens Tribute is one of the most endearing gift with purchases this year. It’s yours for free when you spend AU$209 [Aus], US$150 [US] and £150 [UK].

There’s also a higher tier offer – a Teal buildable brick, which will be free with orders over AU$279 [AUS], US$200 [US], and £200 [UK].

In Australia, it was a bit of pain deciding what to get to qualify for the offers as most of the big ticket items like the Ecto-1, Mos Eisley Cantina and even 1989 Batwing were sold out.

If you haven’t already jumped on them, I can recommend picking up Pirates of Barracuda Bay, the Nintendo Entertainment System or the Ideas Grand Piano.

Hopefully those of you in the US and UK will have better luck snagging an Ecto-1 to qualify for the offers!

Best start planning and loading up your shopping cart!

Let me know in the comments about your LEGO.com shopping haul, or what you’re planning on getting!

Not bought anything yet, as there’s really nothing in the 20% sale that appeals. I suppose it’d be good stocking fillers if I had kids, but I was expecting a major event like last year’s where I picked up Darth Vader’s Castle and Kylo Ren’s Shuttle. I was hoping for a discount on the AT-AT and that Clone Wars tank with the Ashoka Tano minifig.

Oh well, it’s been worth popping on for the 1,000,000 points prize draw each day, if nothing else.

I can’t complain really as last weekend’s VIP double points offer orders are starting to arrive. Sesame Street came today, and another parcel (presumably the Charles Dickens set with the Elf clubhouse and 3in1 Creator dinosaurs set) has been dispatched. I might buy a £20 voucher with my points and order the AT-AT and that Ashoka Tano tank and just be happy at that.

Wow thanks for the reminder – last year really had much better sales, at a bigger discount too.

Sounds like a pretty good haul from VIP weekend, and yes, it was a more attractive sale than Black Friday – I don’t think I even bought anything as I’m pretty tapped out for the year.

Luckily I bought Ecto-1 UCS before it sold out and now on back order in UK, so in my basket is the ISS, D-0 & Lukes landspeeder total £155 so qualifies for the FREE Dickens set

I’ve prepared my shopping bag and wish list days before this promotion started, which turned out to be really helpful and necessary. I was ready to hit the buy bottom on Friday close to the midnight. but was too tired and fell asleep. Fortunately I woke up at 4am and remembered to placed my order ? At that moment all the items I want were still available, except for the gingerbread house was in back order. I feel lucky around noon seeing that the gingerbread house and the lucky cat and the bicycles poly bag I bought are out of stock, and the creator house boat is in back order.

In fact I’m new to LEGO (only since late October this year). It’s amazing to see how popular it is.

    • Jay says:

Oh nice one. The Gingerbread House has been out of stock nearly all year, so at least you were able to get what you wanted!

That’s great that you’re new to LEGO! It’s a great time to get into it as there’s just SO much variety and the calibre of sets released has been sensational.

  5. Mark P says:

Teal brick is gone. That’s gonna be might collectible when Lego inevitably retires the colour again. ?

  6. Michael says:

My son is getting the Minecraft Redstone battle, and I’m finally getting the Iron Man Art set. Merry Christmas to us! I’m a massive fan of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, so I couldn’t miss out

    • Jay says:

Nice! I was on the fence about what to buy as everything I wanted was sold out, but I decided to grab the Star Wars Sith Art set. Can’t wait to see if it lives up to the hype!

  7. Nichole says:

Was ready at midnight, Elf Village didn’t come back into stock so went With the buildable Micky and Minnie which was perfect to get both GWP. Just hope they get the Elf Club back, just had a birthday and it’s traditional for family to give cash for me to get the Christmas set during this time when they have these really good promos, so Lego you are messing with family traditions here, get it together!

    • Jay says:

Yeah, really unfortunate they didn’t restock the Elf Clubhouse set. I hope they have another release closer to Christmas. The buildable Mickey and Minnie is a nice pickup! I was contemplating that, but ended up going with the Sith Art set myself.

  8. Andrew says:

Wanted the Elf Village and Sesame Street, unfortunately both out of stock. Consoled myself with the NES as an early Christmas present. Didn’t want to miss out on the Dickens set, and the double points sweetens the deal.

Agree with Mark P – Barracuda Bay is my pick for build of the year – if you haven’t got it yet, do yourself a favour ;).

  9. Mark P says:

Grabbed the modular bookstore first thing this morning to make sure I got the VIP GWPs. Currently in negotiations with the missus (we’re still doing the No More Lego Purchases thing!) about grabbing the NES which they finally seem to have plenty of stock of.
I finally finished the Pirate Bay last night, what a fun build!

    • Jay says:

How’d it go with the NES!

My LEGO backlog is massive – but I’m determinded to get to Barracuda Bay before the year is up!

      • Mark P says:

No luck with the NES. It’s a lot of money for a kit that’ll only get played with once, I fear. Maybe if I ever get a decent tax return I’ll justify it!
Definitely do the Pirate Bay. It’s almost definitely my favourite kit. Playability is ridiculous!

  10. Cassandra says:

Was looking to get the 123 Sesame Street set and something small to get to the $209. It was in stock last night but unfortunately when I logged on this morning it was out of stock again. Disappointed, as that was the last Christmas present I had to by for the kids, hopefully it comes back in stock again soon. I really wanted the Charles Dickens tribute but I can’t justify spending extra money on other sets that weren’t needed (I definitely wouldn’t say that the kids wouldn’t have wanted them?)
