LEGO Vidiyo teased, coming to you in March 2021!

In the pages of the new 2021 LEGO Catalogue revealed by Brickset, we have a teaser for LEGO’s mysterious new music/dance- theme – Vidiyo and a release date as well – March 2021!

Not much is known at this stage but the teaser image does confirm that this is aimed at younger kids/tweens, and the presence of the disco ball at the back does suggest that there’s going to be dancing involved.

There is a QR code that links to this teaser page which currently doesn’t work – but do keep an eye on it, possibly as we tick into the New Year.

I theorised what we could possibly see in 2021 and entertainment is possibly going to be massive for LEGO next year, so watch this space to see what we get!

Just tried that QR code and it directs to a teaser page with the headline text, “Capture the beat of your world”, and “Stay tuned… Come back on Jan 26 to discover the awesome world of VIDIYO!”

Immediate thoughts are of a TikTok-style short music video creation app and sets similar to their Movie Maker to make animations of your creations set to snippets of music through their Universal Music Group collab. Too much?

That certainly sounds plausible. I think the theme name is also a mashup of Video and DIY (Vi-DIY-o) so there’s certainly a thing to create your own music videos!

I’m begging lego for a Freddy mercury and Elvis Presley, maybe other music icons too

    • Jay says:

The holy trinity of Freddie, David Bowie and Prince would be great!

We could have hours of discussion over what music icons would work great as LEGO minifigures!

Still needs a better name imo. Maybe Lego can collab again with another company to help them invent better names 😛
