Did LEGO just tease a new UCS R2-D2?

In yesterday’s Imperial Probe Droid reveal, it seems that LEGO have accidentally let slip an upcoming new set – a 2021 UCS R2-D2!

R2’s head can be seen peeking out of the corner of this shot, and wow, you can immediately tell that this looks to be a brand new model.

The curves for the head use far less studs, and more layered textures compared to the original 10225 which was released almost 10 years ago now!

Update: Looks like LEGO are continuing to tease us with the reveal of the 50th Anniversary printed brick and R2-D2 minifigure!

No other information is available, but with Star Wars Day aka May the 4th swiftly approaching, I’d be keeping an eye on this blog for any upcoming announcements.
