Expanding the LEGO Modular Boutique Hotel? Here are what some LEGO builders are doing!

If you’re a fan of LEGO Modular Buildings, you would already know that 10297 Boutique Hotel, the 2022 Modular is one of the most unique, and aesthetically pleasing additions to the beloved theme, that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

If you’re a fan of Modular Buildings, it’s quite likely that you’ve already picked it up at launch on 1 January 2022, but do you need another, especially if you missed out on the 40532 Vintage Taxi gift with purchase (GWP)?

Why a second Boutique Hotel? The unique design, and its nature as a hotel lends to some really interesing modifications, such as expanding the size of it, both lengthwise and vertically!

Here are some really interesting things LEGO fans and builders have been doing with two copies of the Modular Boutique Hotel!

In case you missed it, check out my review of 10297 Boutique Hotel, which netted a rare 5/5 score!

El Cubo Art Cafe by @lego_artisan

Instead of a straightforward expansion, @lego_artisan took elements from the Boutique Hotel, and created a whole new building dubbed the El Cubo Fine Art Cafe, with the same colour scheme to match.

You can download instructions on Rebrickable here.

Going vertical by @itsbrickson

Want to go vertical and add more floors to the Boutique Hotel to house more guests? @itsbrickson demonstrates what an additional floor to the Boutique Hotel looks like!

Mirroring the Boutique Hotel by Michael S

If you want to expand the Boutique Hotel sideways, Michael S mirrored the design, to create this oddly satisfying wide version of the hotel, creating so much more space, and making it feel a lot roomier – I particularly like the expanded hotel lobby!

Boutique Hotel with Swimming Pool by Christopher Antoszek

And last but not least, for that extra splash of luxury, Christopher Antoszek not only added expanded the footprint, and added a level – he also added a pool!

Do note that this modification not only requires an additional Boutique Hotel, you’ll also need some additional elements.

Hope you enjoyed this feature! I was really inspired seeing these modifications, and what builders are doing to expand the Boutique Hotel!

If you’re thinking of purchasing an additional Modular Boutique Hotel, you can qualify for the  40532 Vintage Taxi while stocks last. Unfortunately, the Hotel is temporarily out of stock in the US, and is currently on backorder in Australia and the UK, but you may be able to find the set in-store.

Fantastic! They are all spectacular. I love the Parisian attic windows of the art cafe; the extra level of the vertical really makes a difference; love the mirrored version- yes, foyer and staircase are great – and the boutique one with pool has all of the above. Love them. Better start saving for more sets!!!! Thanks for collating these Jay – I was so hoping master builders would come up with great new versions. Not disappointed!
