All the 2022 LEGO April Fools Jokes you may have missed!

As is tradition, we’ve survived another April Fool’s Day, where you may have been hit by an onslaught of dubious announcements, too-good to-be-true LEGO news, and random headscratchers.

The LEGO Community has had a long-standing tradition of tom-foolery on 1 April, with news sites, influencers and youtubers jumping on the bandwagon to take a break from the serious (lol) headlines and breaking news, to have some LEGO-related fun.

Even The LEGO Group jumps in on the fun too, which is always nice to see.

My contribution this year has been the LEGO Goats found in Build-A-Minifigure stations, which in case you missed yesterday is NOT happening, as much as we all would like it to.

Here’s a list of some of the more notable LEGO April Fools jokes from 2022, and links to go check them out!

It’s been another fantastic year of gags, and my personal favourite thing about April Fools is seeing my colleagues letting loose, and expressing their creativity through these gags.

Among some of my favourites are..

Ministry of Sound

I think my favourite came from outside the LEGO Media sphere, with Ministry of Sound unexpectedly jumping into the luls with an 18+ LEGO Nightclub, in the style of Creator Expert/LEGO for Adults packaging.

Love the set number, 010422 and how good of a MOC it is.

Basshunter minifigure sold separately, but I’m sure this model has a secret compartment for MDMA or something.

TIps and Bricks

I really loved the lengths and absurdity of Tips and Brick’s video discussing Illegal Building Techniques – it starts off semi-believable, and descends into absurdity midway through.

The LEGO Group

LEGO’s April Fools gag was pretty good, introducing a life-sized LEGO Maxifigure, a giant minifigure companion that can accompany you for all sorts of activities.

It’s pretty absurd, and not gonna lie, I would love one for myself..

Brickfinder

This was particularly cruel, as I think it’s a longtime coming, but I also enjoyed Brickfinder’s Colours of the World skintone pack, with an assortment of minifigure accessories.

Special shout out to the funny names on the side of the Crayola-inspired box!

Let me know which April Fool’s Joke got you, and which one was your favourite this year!
