One of the questions that LEGO often receives is “How do I become a LEGO designer?” or “how do you apply to become a LEGO designer?”.

LEGO Designers are one of the most high profile, and prestigious roles within The LEGO Group as they are instrumental in bringing the products that we all love to life, and almost enjoy rockstar status within the LEGO fan community.

If you ever fancied heading to Billund, Denmark to become a LEGO Designer, the time could be now, as LEGO are actively hiring for new Product Designers and Senior Designers – check out the job ad to find out more!

You could join the ranks of Justin Ramsden, Marcos Bessa, Laura Perron and more, and be the next big thing at LEGO.

LEGO Designer Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a design-related background or proven experience in Design areas such as Toy, Fashion, Communication, Game, Concept Art, Film and Production, Architecture, Textile, Digital Production, Industrial or other creative fields.

Ideally, you have Interest and/or experience with global trends and how to interpret insights into great building experiences. Knowledge with manufacturing, 3D software and prior experience with LEGO Building system would be an added advantage.

Moreover, we expect you to show:

  • Accountability, self-motivation, and time management to reach deadlines
  • Curiosity towards a playful approach and strong skills to communicate and visualize your ideas – to both small and large audiences
  • Flexibility and an open mindset, who wishes to openly play with other specialists to build great childhood memories for generations to come
  • A cooperative attitude who actively seeks and shares inputs from peers and other partners
  • Passion and understanding for kids and why play matters
  • Proficiency level in English communication skills (spoken & written)
