I’m heading to Billund, Denmark for LEGO Fan Media Days and Skærbæk Fan Weekend!
So a really quick and exciting update – I’ll be travelling to Billund, Denmark very soon!
I’m headed to where it all began, and the center of the universe, for the first time ever – something that I’ve dreamed of doing for years.
I’m making the long trek from Australia to Billund, Denmark (a casual 30 hour trip) for one main reason – attending Fan Media Days, a special event organised by the LEGO Ambassador Network each year where selected RLFM (recognised LEGO Fan Media) get to meet and interview LEGO Designers, as well as get top secret previews of sets (and themes) that are coming out in the coming months.
Check out some of the content I produced from last year’s Fan Media Days, which I got to attend virtually. Due to the pandemic, the last 2 Fan Media Days were held virtually, so this is a really exciting year as it’s the first physical one in a year.
Here’s my travel route, to get to Denmark! It’s a long way away, but I’m super excited as this is the furthest I’ve ever travelled.
As luck would have it, this year’s Fan Media Days is held right after Skærbæk Fan Weekend, one of the premiere LEGO Fan Conventions globally.
I’ve heard many great things about Skærbæk and I can’t wait to experience it for the first time ever.
I’ll be at Skærbæk on Saturday night (for the dinner BBQ) and all day Sunday, so if you bump into me, please do not hesitate to say hi, as I’d love to meet you in person!
I also might have some Extra Pieces Podcast merch (Richard from The Rambling Brick will also be there!) to hand out, and maybe some other odd things I bring with me. Oh, and Tim Tams. I have plenty of Tim Tams packed to hand out, to make friends.
Apart from visiting Billund, I’ve always dreamed about the opportunity to attend Fan Media Days, ever since I got invited years ago, but never could because of other things happening in my life, and of course the cost.
I’m really thankful that I have the opportunity to head there this year for this, and truthfully, this trip is entirely self-funded, and that couldn’t have been made possible without all the support I’ve received on the blog, whether you scroll past some ads, or bought something using an affiliate link.
I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity, and cannot thank you, my readers enough for helping to make this trip a reality.
Keep an eye out for plenty of Billund content in the coming days – to see what I get up to on my travels, do follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok, for more casual content.
I’ll also be a little slow to respond to comments, emails, and messages, so if you’re waiting on a response, please expect a bit of a delay! It might also be a little quiet on the blog, but my aim is to still post a few reviews and pieces of content up if I’m able to!
In the meantime, feel free to catch up on some of my recent reviews, and videos to tide you over!
