    Buying Guide: Every new LEGO set launching in January 2023

    January 2023 marks the start of a brand new year, which means a whole slew of new LEGO sets gets released! It’s one of the biggest LEGO set release windows of the year, and one of the most exciting as we can finally get our hands on all the cool new 2023 LEGO sets!

    1 January is also the release date of the new 2023 LEGO Modular building, 10312 Jazz Club, which will be available for LEGO VIPs, but there are plenty of other notable releases such as 31208 Hokusai: The Great Wave, and 80111 Lunar New Year Parade.

    For minifigure collectors LEGO Minifigures Series 24 officially go on sale, with 12 awesome new characters to hunt down! Unfortunately, for those of us in Australia, we’ll need to wait till February for Series 24 to release Down Under.

    LEGO January 2023 Gift with Purchases (GWPs)

    With so many new LEGO sets hitting shelves, LEGO.com will also be running plenty of offers and promotions in January, which you can find via the regional pages for specific offers, availability details and GWP thresholds in your local currency.

    40580 Blacktron Cruiser

    The big January 2023 LEGO GWP is 40580 Blacktron Cruiser which will be available from 1 January – 14 February from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store, with a purchase threshold of US$190 / €190 / £170. Australian threshold is TBD, but the LEGO Certified Store has the purchase threshold to be AU$310

    40575 Year of the Rabbit

    LEGO 40575 Year of the Rabbit, based on the 2023 Chinese Zodiac animal will be available as a gift with purchase from 15-25 January 2023 with purchases of US$85 / €85 / £80 on LEGO.com.

    This is an annual release designed with the Chinese LEGO market in mind (but availble globally!), and is the 9th LEGO Chinese Zodiac Animal released so far!

    January 2023 will also see another bonus for LEGO VIP members, 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack, which will likely be added to your order with very small spends, just like previous VIP Add-On Packs.

    There looks to be plenty of Oriental and Lunar New Year-themed accessories like gold bars, chipsticks, money, fences and Rabbits.

    There’s another interesting and mysterious LEGO GWP with no availability details – 40583 Houses of the World, which according to Brickset may be available some time in January 2023.

    There aren’t any firm details on timing, purchase thresholds, but I’ll update this when I do. In the meantime, do check out Brickset’s review of 40583 Houses of the World, which looks to be the start of a new line of microscale house sets with a geographical flair.
