Din Djarin finally gets a LEGO Darksaber in 75361 Spider Tank

LEGO Star Wars has a really interesting drip-feed reveal for The Mandalorian Season 3 sets with the official reveal of 75361 Spider Tank

Following on from last week’s look at 75346 Snub Fighter and 75363 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter Microfighter, we now have our look at 75361 Spider Tank, which featured heavily in the 2nd episode of Season 3 of The Mandalorian where Din Djarin, Bo Katan and Grogu explore the Mines of Mandalore.

75361 Spider Tank has a release date of 1 August 2023, and can now be pre-ordered from LEGO.com in North America/Europe.

75361 Spider Tank US$49.99 / AU$84.99 / £46.99 / €52,99 / CAD$64.99

Most excitingly about this 526-piece set is the long-awaited debut of a proper Darksaber hilt, which Din Djarin wields to fend off the spider robot!

A proper Darksaber has been a long-time request from LEGO Star Wars fans, and its previous appearance in the N-1 Starfighter set as a simple black lightsaber rod left much to be desired. Rest assured, Mandalorian fans can finally rejoice at the inclusion of this proper accessory.

Bo-Katan Kryze is also included in the set, and she’s also had some slight cosmetic upgrades with the inclusion of arm-prints, making this the most detailed Bo-Katan minifigure yet.

The Spider Tank itself looks great, and the designers have done a remarkable job getting this menacing Spider Robot from Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore translated into LEGO form, although it remains to be seen if there’s a tinier eye-ball robot on the inside that can jump out.

Lots of grey, but that’s par for the course for LEGO Star Wars, and the designers are hoping that fans will be distracted by the awesome new Darksaber element. The set is a little pricey, but hopefully the Spider Tank is larger than it looks in the photos, and at the very least it looks like a fun build.

Still at US$50, a pretty price to pay for a Darksaber!

75361 Spider Tank will be released on 1 August 2023, and can now be pre-ordered from LEGO.com in North America/Europe.

  2. PATRICK ANTHONY CARPENTER says:

Day one pick up, this is sweeeet! Cool spider mech build, and 2 GREAT mini figs with awesome accessories, the dark saber!!! 😀

  3. Linkman says:

Wasn’t the bot rusty in the show? I am begging LEGO to add more color to their star wars line up. I started taking sets of my shelves because there is just too much grey.

  4. Jack says:

    85 AUD….

There goes my excitement for this set. It’s only $5 less than the CW Mandalorian Starfighter, which feels like far better value in terms of size, play functions and displayability.

  5. Legomas says:

I don’t have a face printed mando or bo katan so looking forward to the set… except the legs are only 4 studs wide though you might need a microscope to see the finished droid model, or it’s about the size of a modern cheeseburger?

  6. Teere£ says:

I just asked the Missus for the Unicorn (based on your review), the Mandolorian sets, Star fighter & Spider Tank.
She thinks the Spider Tank looks like a similar one from Ghost in the Machine. I have suspicion it will be modified to look like said GITM tank 🤣.
This is what happens when a novice starts building with an experienced spouse. 😂

Hey Jay – love your work.

You’ve got 2022 as the release date 🙂

    Cheers.

    Pog!

Although you meant to say blade rather than hilt.
Still, I’m happy with it, I can see how a properly-shaped squarish hilt would be difficult for a minifigure to hold.

  9. Well, the Darksaber still has the wrong hilt. The blade is correct though. Personally I think it works very well.

  10. Jim Allen Johnston says:

hm. wish it came with a minifigure we didn’t already have in some form! though, not sure who that could have been from that particular episode … I’ll still get it, though 🙂

    • Sonny says:

I agree. I was hoping it comes with the one eyeball cyborg creature that drives the tank.

      • Jason says:

I had a strong feeling they would be coming out with this set after seeing it on the most recent episode, only thought it would be including the one-eyed droid atv the very least since it was operating the spider droid. After that was hoping for new Din Jarin, Grogu with his vehicle, but a new Bo is a surprise.
And agree that the dark saber calls for an updated hilt.

        • Jason says:

Meant to mention an updated print for Grogu showing the Beskar steel mail and a buildable pod w/ a stand.
