The LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ’s interiors are frighteningly beautiful
LEGO lifted the curtains off the hotly anticipated interiors of the Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters early this morning and my, my my, are they a sight to behold. It was only 2 weeks ago when the Firehouse HQ was unveiled, along with a very hefty AU$500 pricetag but we were only treated to the iconic building’s exteriors.
As we all expected, the Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ opens up very much like a dollhouse to reveal a charming and obscenely detailed interiors that will make any Ghostbusters fan squeal in delight.
Here’s a look at how the structure opens up to reveal the interiors.
We also get a look at the Box Art which thankfully sticks to many of the same aesthetics as Ecto-1 which is pretty cool.
There’s just so much going on indoors that the set’s mammoth 4634 piece count is quite fairly justified. The level of detail and playability reminds me a lot of the Star Wars Death Star but one does have to wonder how often you’ll actually get to enjoy the interiors as I imagine most adult collectors would have the structure closed up while on display.
The Simpsons House sits proudly on my display shelf and it too has great interiors but I’ve really only got to play with and appreciate the insides when I first built it? It’s since been kept shut all this time which kinda seems like a bit of a waste for sets like these. Anyway, food for thought if you’re considering this set.
I’ve created a collage with all the character names of the minifigures included in the Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ, which should be handy for the non-hardcore Ghostbusters fan. Most if not all of the major characters in the movie are represented here, so it should be a no-brainer purchase for Ghostbusters fans.
The Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ’s release date is 1 January 2016 and comes with a whopping $500 pricetag Down Under. I think that you do get enough value for the price that you’re paying but it is half a thousand dollars which isn’t a measly sum.
LEGO have released plenty more pictures, which you can check out on their Facebook album.
Anyway, now that the interiors have been revealed, what are your thoughts? Will you be picking this up on Day 1 or are you going to pass? Let me know in the comments!
