Have you got your Brickvention 2016 tickets yet?
I’m quite spoiled to call a city like Melbourne home. There are plenty of things I love about the city – the amazing culture, incredible coffee, multicultural society and of course, one of my favourite calendar events of the year – Brickvention.
I look forward to Brickvention every year and I’m super stoked that it’s happening next weekend! For the uninitiated, Brickvention is Australia’s largest LEGO fan convention featuring a massive display of LEGO models, dioramas, sculptures and creations constructed by the very talented Australian LEGO fan community.
It’s held over 2 days this coming weekend, the 16th and 17th of January at the Royal Exhibition Building, located in the Carlton Gardens.
This will be my third time attending Brickvention as a visitor and it’s something I look forward to every year. To see what previous years is like, I highly recommend checking out the photos I took from Brickvention 2014 and Brickvention 2015.
2016 is Brickvention’s 10th Anniversary and promises to be their biggest yet. No idea if anything special is planned but I’m really looking forward to meeting Tim Johnson who will be speaking at the event. Tim is editor of Bricks Culture and founder of one of my personal favourite LEGO blogs, New Elementary.
It’s a really cool LEGO event to attend, so if you live in Melbourne and love LEGO, you owe it to yourself to be there. There are no tickets sold at the door, and with one week remaining, will sell out really soon, I highly recommend buying tickets immediately to avoid losing out.
You can buy tickets online through the Brickvention website!
Looking at photos is one thing, but experiencing and checking out all the jaw-dropping LEGO models upclose and in person is a whole different ball-game. I can easily spend hours browsing through the entire convention, marveling at the creations and all the teeny tiny details that builders love to hide in their models.
I’ll be taking photos of the event, of course, so look out for a post-event writeup!
Also, I have ONE (1) Brickvention ticket to give away. I was initially planning on going with my partner, but something came up for her on Saturday, so if you’d like one, please drop me an email at jaysbrickblog [at] gmail [dot] com. My ticket is for the Saturday, 16 January 1:00pm session. Let me know if you’d like one!
If you happen to be there on Saturday afternoon and spot me, come say hi!
Will you be going to be at Brickvention this year? Let me know in the comments!
