Here’s the LEGO x Levi’s collection – LEGO but make it fashion!

Until the LEGO x Levi’s teaser dropped, I didn’t know I wanted a LEGO x Levi’s collaboration, but hey, let’s add this onto a massive list of LEGO-branded fashion items (like Adidas sneakers) that have rocketed up my wishlist.

I’m honoured to preview what happens when one of the most iconic names in denim partners with one of the most iconic toy companies – the LEGO x Levi’s collection.

Update (1/10): The collection is now online in Australia and New Zealand!

The collection has a release date of 1 October and I can confirm that Australian and Kiwi fans will have access to the collection when it drops in October.

In Australia, the LEGO x Levi’s collection will be available from Levi’s stores, levis.com.au and Glue Store, and in New Zealand, it’ll be available from Levi’s stores, levis.co.nz and LOADED.

Here’s a (partial) look at the collection, which features a wide variety of apparel – featuring a denim jacket, jeans, hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, tees, and accessories like beanies, caps and bumbags (or fanny packs as some of you call it).

Update: This vest-thingamabob won’t be available in Australia and New Zealand.

What truly sets this collaboration apart from previous LEGO apparel collections is the first-ever flexible LEGO baseplate – an ingenious addition that bridges the gap between wearable and buildable fashion.

Made out of silicone – these panels have studs which allow you to customise and personalise the vintage stonewash Levi’s® Trucker Jacket, a Dad Crop Trucker Jacket, 501® ’93 Straight Jeans, and a lineup of hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, and accessories.

Included in the collection is a LEGO and Levi’s branded Dots bag, which feature tiles and Dots-elements in Levi’s-brand colours to get you started with customising your clothes.

Here’s the full list of products and the pricing for Australia and New Zealand.

Here’s a closer look at individual photos of the items from the LEGO x Levi’s collection, and detailing.

This is a fantastic collaboration that especially appeals to diehard LEGO fans who want to show off their love for LEGO with some really well-designed pieces.

Denim jackets and jeans are timeless additions to anyone’s wardrobes, and with Levi’s behind them, you can be assured of quality and pedigree behind these pieces.

I also really love that they’ve gone the extra mile and introduced the silicone brick plate, which allows you to express your creativity, and stick all sorts of LEGO on it, from Dots, to things like minifigures.

For people who aren’t particularly into fashion, the prices might seem a bit steep, but I acknowledge that Levi’s have invested into the production process to integrate the silicon brick patch into their apparel, which is miles ahead of just slapping LEGO design elements or branding onto clothes, and calling it a day.

Apart from the denim jacket and jeans which I hope to pick up, I also really love the white colour block hoodie, and the graphic tee with the Levi’s box logo/brick design.

I’ll definitely be picking some of these pieces up when they launch on 1 October as I can see myself incorporating these pieces into my wardrobe, and hey, once the LEGO Adidas sneakers come out, I can pair them together and have a full LEGO kit.

A maybe for me. Think I’d rather save the money to get the new cantina!

Hmmm…when the Lego Super Mario collaboration was announced, I set my alarm and bought the entire set… twice; one for my ecstatic 6 year old son (and the other little boy at home!) and one as a donation.
Then they added the Nintendo set…well…how could I not?
Then the Adidas collaboration was announced. My son is just outgrowing his runners, so I thought…great timing!

      Now it’s Levi’s, IKEA…the list goes on.
IKEA btw, are just more boring versions of exisiting Lego storage products.

I understand that as a business, Lego has to diversify, and with more AFOLs than ever, strike while the iron is hot.

But it’s getting a bit much. There are already so many collaborations just to create the Lego sets, now expanding into soooo many other products is starting to feel a bit like a cash grab, and a sneaky way to get your fans to pay to advertise for you.
Especially as they’re not regulating the resell market, so genuine fans miss out so that opportunists can profit.

These are great, and I’m sure I’ll buy the whole collection, but all these joint ventures are starting to hurt part of what makes Lego so special.

I think we’ve gone way past the point where unless you have the means, you don’t really need to get everything. Hopefully with Levi’s, it’ll be much easier to get them and they won’t be too limited edition.

What is that one that looks like 2 little bags and a headrest? I just can’t figure it out… (i probably need that little black bag though, and maybe the jeans)

Imma pass on the Adidas collab, but that colour block hoodie is fire!
