LEGO 42130 Technic BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR joins the January 2022 Technic lineup!

If you thought LEGO’s wave of January 2022 Technic sets was a little lacklustre, and lacking a some punch, worry no more, as LEGO has just unveiled the 42130 Technic BMW M 1000 RR motorbike – a highly detailed 1:5 scale replica of the real deal!

The Technic BMW M 1000 RR is the latest in a partnership between LEGO Technic and BMW Motorrad, giving LEGO Technic and Motorrad enthusiasts the chance to own the first ever BMW ‘M’ bike.

The 1,920-piece Technic BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR has a release date of 1 January 2022, and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store, and is priced at US$229.99 / £174.99.

There will be a wider release at other retailers from 1 March 2022 onwards.

See below for regional pricing:

Here are the BMW M 1000 RR’s dimensions:

  • Model (not on a display)
    • 27.7 cm high / 45,5 cm long/ 17cm wide
  • Model on a display stand
    • 32.6 cm high / 45,5cm long/ 17 cm wide
  • Model on a racing stand
    • 27.7 cm high / 46,9cm long / 17cm wide

The LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR has several key features recreated in brick, making it technically accurate but also aesthetically stunning.

These include a new and fully functional three-speed gearbox, front and rear suspension, front steering, a gold chain, three different screen dashboard options and a printed windshield.

Designed for pure enjoyment, the set also comes with a racing stand and display plate.

I’m not a massive Technic guy, but it’s great to see a large Technic set, available from the get-go on 1 January 2022, giving Technic fans a reason to ring in the New Year with a sick BWM Motorrad motorbike model.

Enjoy more detailed high quality photos of the Technic BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR!

I don’t believe it renders the previous motorbike scale obsolete. Now, instead of of only 1 scale for quality technic motorcycles, we now have 2.

I do understand the point you’re making but I believe we’ve lost nothing and gained so so much with the introduction of this new motbike (and all the brand new parts that it’s brought along with it.

  2. Mark P says:

That looks so cool!! It’s a little bit pricey, but I reckon it might get marked down pretty heavily like the Ducati did, so happy to wait a year or two. 🙂

  3. Adrian says:

Love this set! Hope this is the beginning of a new line, like the 1:8 supercars. And I also like that this set it’s not so expensive as a supercar. Great time to be a Lego and motorbikes fan)

  4. Steve Platt says:

I would love one of these, but
    a) it’s a bit expensive
    and
    b) why isn’t it the same size as the BMW GS1200 and the Ducati Panigale?

    • Jay says:

It looks like LEGO are scaling up their Technic bike offering – larger = more details they can squeeze in, as well as push up the price.

It’s a shame, as it does render the previous bikes a little obsolete.

I just bought this. The moment my eyes caught sight of it, I realised I couldn’t walk out of the store without it. Usually with big purchases, there’s a conflict in my brain. Not this time.

Although it’s clearly at a new scale to previous bikes and any oth vehicles, it’s such a masterpiece that I could not walk past. With its huge list of brand new parts. I didn’t even have a choice really 😉

This is pretty sick, although I wish we’d get BMW M cars as opposed to bikes.
