LEGO Insiders is live! Here’s how to earn points by registering your sets!
LEGO Insiders, the newly identity of the LEGO VIP Program (RIP) has finally gone live on LEGO.com!
You can check out the new and snazzy LEGO Insiders at https://lego.com/insiders!
As reported on last week, LEGO have rebranded their VIP Program to LEGO Insiders, but thankfully, most of the program will stay the same. You’ll still earn points on purchases, and can redeem points for $ off your next purchase, or exclusive rewards!
One of the most anticipated new features of LEGO Insiders is the ability to register your sets, by scanning a unique QR code found on your instruction manuals, to earn 20 points per set registered.
How to earn 20 LEGO Points by scanning and registering your sets
First, you’ll need the LEGO Builder App (available on Google Play or Apple App Store) in order to begin collecting points.
Here’s a step by step guide on how you can begin earning Points by scanning and registering your sets!
You’ll earn 20 points per set registered. Each QR code on the instructions manual is unique, so even if you have 5 or 10 or the same set, you can register each one of those by scanning their respective manuals.
Instructions manuals only go back to sets from 2018 onwards.
Note: Not all sets have QR codes. Brickheadz, GWP and selected LEGO Store exclusives like 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure do not have QR codes on their manual.
1. Scan the QR Code with your smartphone
2. The Builder App will open – select “Earn Points”
Opening up your camera or QR code scanning app, scan the QR code which will generate a URL.
3. Confirm Registration of Set
Clicking the URL will automatically open the LEGO Builder App. Here, select the “Earn Points” button.
Clicking that button will send you back to the LEGO Insiders webpage, where you’ll be prompted to Register your set for 20 points. You will need to be logged into your LEGO Insiders account, and you’ll recognise your name there.
4. Success! 20 Points will be added to your Insiders account!
Once you click Register Your Sets, you’ll enjoy some digital confetti as the system confirms that you’ve earned 20 points!
It’s pretty smooth and I’m quite happy with how it works, so blitzing through dozens of manuals should be relatively easy.
LEGO Insiders Treasure Hunt – win 1 million LEGO Points
To celebrate the launch of LEGO Insiders, LEGO are also throwing a Treasure Hunt, an interactive sweepstakes that could net you 1 million LEGO Points!
Unfortunately, it’s not open worldwide, and you’ll need to be a resident in the following countries to qualify.
- Australia
- Canada
- Denmark (not Greenland and the Faeroe Islands)
- Metropolitan France (not French Overseas Departments or Territories, or Monaco)
- Germany (not Heligoland)
- New Zealand
- South Korea
- United Kingdom (excluding channel islands and the Isle of Man)
- United States
Using augmented reality, the LEGO Insiders Treasure Hunt allows users to scan LEGO bricks either at home or in LEGO stores to try and find a golden LEGO brick and reveal a prize. What’s more, there is no limit on how many times a day you can hunt for bricks, making play more rewarding than ever.
Over the next six weeks until 6 October 2023, there will also be the opportunity for six people in each participating country to become a LEGO Points millionaire, winning [£7,000 / US$9000 / €8,200 / CAD$12,000 / AUD$13,250 / NZD$14,500 / DKK 60,500 / KRW 11475000] worth of points to spent in the LEGO Insiders Reward Center!
There are a total of 2,000,001 prizes to be won in a shared prize pool across participating countries. Winning Moments prizes consist of:
- 1,6000,000 x Digital Download of a LEGO colouring sheet (1 of 8 varieties available allocated at random)
- 100,001 x Code Redemption for an exclusive Torso in the LEGO Tower App
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Star Wars
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Spider-man
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Batman
It’s not too shabby, and I was pleased that the Augmented Reality scanning worked well when I tested it out.
