Here are the winners of the 2016 Halloween Costume contest!

November 1, 2016 By Jay Ong 9 Comments

Hope you had a blast at Halloween yesterday! I certainly had a great time yesterday. It’s now time to announce the winners of the 2016 Halloween Costume Contest!

Once again, I was blown away by the entries that came in. It seemed like you guys had a ton of fun with dressing up your minifigs in their Halloween costumes. Thanks to everyone who entered! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I had viewing the photos.

This year, it was yet another tough decision to make and it went down to the wire.

The winner of the 2016 Halloween Costume contest is…

renay

Why chicken when you can peacock!

Renay’s incredibly creative Peacock costume! The execution was brilliant and I especially liked the trick or treat buckets filled with candy. Congratulations, Renay!

ngaire-t

Coming in second is Ngaire T’s daughter’s frightful creation that’s an amalgamation of Ursula, Spider Lady, some sort of Orc and a croissant. Armed with a crossbow and cupcake, this scary costume is not one you should trifle with!

okapi123

Coming in third is this pretty gruesome, but effective Skeleton Joker by Okapi! I really liked the look on the poor victim’s face that’s stuck on the blade.

Second and third prize win 3x random Series 16 minifigures! Congratulations!

Because the field of entries was so good, I’ve also decided to give out some extra prizes to 3 honourable mentions that were on my shortlist. They’ll each receive 1x random Series 16 minifigure!

I’ll be in touch via email with all winners over email! Congratulations once again!

I also want to feature all the other spectacular entries that came in. Thanks once again for joining and for your support! Can’t wait for next year’s Halloween to roll around so we can do this again!

Mine wasn’t in here ? I had two kid minifigures, one dressed as batman and the other was the joker, and they were standing behind a table full of candy. Oh well! It was still fun to make.

It's one of the best and most epic #LEGO creature builds, and features some really nice build techniques, printed scales and an incredibly expressive face.

This model screams display presence and I think has wide-ranging appeal even for those that don't celebrate or observe the Lunar New Year!
