10325 Alpine Lodge is the 2023 LEGO Winter Village set!

It’s officially that time of the year as LEGO unveils the 2023 LEGO Winter Village set, with 10325 Alpine Lodge joining the long-running Winter-themed series!

This 1,517-piece rustic addition to LEGO’s beloved Winter Village sub-theme is set to be released on LEGO.com or your local LEGO store on 1 October 2023 for LEGO Insiders, ahead of a 4 October 2023 general release.

Pleasingly, in an act of defiance against inflation, the price of the Winter Village set has remained consistent, as 10325 Alpine Lodge will cost US$99.99 / AU$169.99 / £89.99

Themetically, the Alpine Lodge seems to be placed on the outskirts of the Winter Village, as there’s a an outdoorsy, nature element to the design thanks to the facade’s log cabin-esque design on the upper level and it seems to be a warm and inviting place of respite for skiiers and travelers.

The Alpine Lodge also has a name, the Two Pines Inn, giving it a bit of flavour.

The facade is also really interesting, and stylistically, quite different to many other Winter Village sets, which have a more traditional, village-like look to them, but I think this represents fresh ground to explore and I like the shift in direction.

The Alpine Lodge comes with 5 minifigures, an Innkeeper, and three guests, as well as a Skiier who is looking for a place to rest and use the outhouse.

And yes, the skiier is an unmistakable nod to stupid sexy Flanders from the Simpsons, and I cannot wait to swap his head with Flanders!

Here’s a look at the open back which is a traditional Winter Village design and allows access to the interiors. There’s 3 levels, a ground floor with a cosy fireplace powered by a lightbrick, a bedroom on the upper level with access to the balcony, as well as a loft with a bed!

The set also comes with an outhouse, and an ice hockey rink which also has a small pier which suggests that in the warmer months, this is a small pond that guests can visit.

And thanks to lifestyle photos supplied by LEGO, we can see the 2023 LEGO Alpine Lodge flanked by the Winter Village sets from 2021 and 2022, 10293 Santa’s Visit and 10308 Holiday Main Street, showcasing just how different its architecture looks like!

I think LEGO have done a wonderful job with 10325 Alpine Lodge with its distinctive facade, which brings something new to the LEGO Winter Village series yet still feels quite grounded and festive with cosy winter vibes abound.

I also think that LEGO keeping this set at the US$99.99 price is also an added bonus, and it’s especially impressive that the Winter Village sets have been maintained at this price since 2018’s 10263 Winter Village Fire Station, ensuring that families and LEGO Winter Village fans can still enjoy the build without having to worry about being priced out.

I’m really looking forward to this set, and will be picking this up on day one so I can build and share my review!

10325 Alpine Lodge will be released on 1 October 2023 for LEGO Insiders, and will be available exclusively from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

What do you think of 10325 Alpine Lodge? Will you be adding this one to your Winter Village collection?

The reason the latest sets have been kept at a similar price point is because they are no longer very 3D…..a great shame in my view. Perhaps it is an attempt to play to younger audiences, but as the build age suggestion is still 18+ this seems unlikely. I am sure I am not the only adult collector who specialises in certain areas, and don’t mind too much if the price is quite high as I save up to add to my collections (Modular Buildings, the occasional vehicle, and of course Winter Village). Instead of reducing the scale of the original ‘Creator Expert’ line of Winter Village builds, perhaps Lego should have considered setting up a separate line for these latest offerings. I struggle not to add to my collections once they are started, but if these thin, ‘playable’ Winter Village sets keep on coming as the only option, I might think again on this one.

Not sure if you ended up getting this set but it’s definitely not super thin, and not like last year. I don’t have any of the earlier winter village sets, but I’ve read reviews of all of them and seen pictures and most of them are no deeper, and many less deep, than this one. So maybe if the criticism is of the whole line, sure, but this isn’t some new trend. They always seem to have been like this.

Any rumours when Christmas themed GWP will be released? I’ve heard it might be a truck carrying a christmas tree, or a horse drawn sleigh.
Been caught a couple of times rushing out to buy a set only to find a few days later I could have got a GWP as well. 🙁

  3. Andrew says:

Is it just me or are these sets becoming less Christmassy and more generic? Last year’s was basically the same design as the Hogsmeade set and this one looks like various other ski chalets done recently.

The Lunar New Year sets do a great job of addressing significant cultural events without compromising LEGO’s policies on this subject, but we can’t have a single Christmas set?

That said, this is a nice looking set and naturally will find a place in our Christmas Village ;).

    • Paul says:

The theme is Winter Village, not Christmas Village. There is a significant portion of the global population that does not recognise or celebrate Christmas so this may be a case of keeping a broad appeal and reflective of different cultures.

      • Julian says:

Unfortunately the political correctness makes this and last year’s set so bland that they could have just released it as a creator 3 in 1 set and it would have had the broader appeal (and dollars) they’re seeking. They still have Christmas trees in this set and presents so they would have benefited from adding in a Father Christmas (or Santa if the word Christmas is offensive) and it would have made a world of difference to setting the scene.

  4. Wim Goris says:

Love it ! I will be getting this first day out. This will go really well with the BDP Winter Chalet too.
And I’m surprised by the price tag of $99.99 for 1500 pieces ?… I guess Lego is getting the hint that sets are getting too expensive, and their sales are down ? 😉

  5. Bert says:

Looks great! This is a no brainer purchase.

  6. Chad H Pendleton says:

Like the new announcement of the Alpine lodge. i really like collecting the Christmas themed set. However, what seems to be lacking is an overall arching theme to follow. this one and the prior 2 years don’t seem to be very cohesive. None of them really match each other. Maybe this is actually is what they are going for. Last years seems to go more with their city themes. in many prior years they seemed to be centered around an overall “North Pole” theme. Where these last couple of years did not follow that same pattern. Still love them all, and will purchase!

  7. Cindy says:

Love your blogs Jay!! So many new Lego kits that I don’t keep up well with them at times. I appreciate your presentations in my email!! Looking forward to future ones.

  8. Julian says:

This year’s and last year’s sets are disappointing. A downhill decline in appeal compared with the sensational elves, santa and gingerbread themed sets of previous years. Far from being an impulsive buy for me but that’s probably a good thing in this economy.

  9. Seelynne says:

Well I will be waiting. We started with the Christmas Train and have been adding to our collection every year. Thank you for letting us know ahead. We do not have a Lego Store in our town, so hopefully I will be a lucky one to order one off of Lego.com.

  10. Miss-Morgs says:

Nice! I just did a Web order today, so will head into my local store early October to collect and add to my Christmas village.
