2019 LEGO Advent Calendars revealed – Harry Potter, Star Wars, City and Friends

We now have crispy official images of the 2019 LEGO Advent Calendars, and there are four to choose from!

Update: I’m counting down the 2019 Star Wards Advent Calendar, follow along for daily reveals!

In addition to the typical Friends, City and Star Wars Advent Calendars, this year is extra special with the inclusion of a Harry Potter Advent Calendar which is bound to be super exciting for LEGO Potterheads.

The 2019 LEGO Advent Calendars are now officially available and you can find them at your local toy store, LEGO.com or Amazon

I look forward to Advent Calendars every year, and if you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you’ll know that I do daily countdowns for Star Wars and other Advent Calendars in December, so look out for it in a few months time!

Unfortunately, LEGO seems oblivious to any sort of fan feedback, and have nearly the entire contents of the Advent Calendar spoiled on the boxes.

Seriously – the whole point of an Advent Calendar is the surprise element, and I’m super disappointed that this is something they still don’t get, year after year.

I try to stay as spoiler-free as possible, and apart from the box art, I haven’t looked at the insides. There are other photos floating around the internet, so you can look them up if you wish, but I recommend against it, purely because the surprise element is half the fun of these advent calendars.

Anyway, here’s a look at all Four Advent Calendars that are releasing this year! I’m willing to bet that the Harry Potter one will be a best-seller this year.

Which ones will you be getting this year? Let me know in the comments or take the poll below to let me know which one you’re most excited about!

I’ll most likely be doing the Harry Potter and Star Wars one, as has become tradition to close out the year!

Almost time for my son Ethan’s Star Wars and my daughter Kaylee’s Harry Potter advent calendars, I think I’m just as excited as them (for the blog also!). We’re going to keep a score of which build is better each day, I’m backing a 12-12 draw!

  4. Carol says:

Now that we know that you are doing the Harry Potter calendar, we will be following along with you again this year! We love your blog each year. You are awesome!

  5. Dave says:

Been doing these with the Star Wars for a couple of years now. I’ve wondered why after opening all of them they dont make a bigger Lego Star Wars thing with all the pieces?

    • Jay says:

It’s pretty hard to get the right mix of parts for mini builds and one larger build. You can always set up fun scenes with all the different models 🙂

  6. C. says:

Can’t wait for your next Star Wars Advent Calendar review!

  8. Tina says:

Would like to see Elves advent calendar!

  9. Naomi says:

In the past we’ve had Star Wars and City or Friends and City, and the kids and I have taken turns opening.

Harry Potter is definitely the pick for this year as my eldest and I are huge Potterheads! I’m not sure which other one/s to get though. Probably City, but only on sale. There doesn’t look to be much new in there this year so it would really only be for the few pieces (shirt, beanie, book, etc) that I know we don’t have.

Although, even same-same Lego is better than a chocolate advent calendar!

    • Jay says:

Yeah, City seems a little boring, and now that I have an alternative with Harry Potter, I’ll probably be happy with those 2.

  10. Hanneke says:

Having 4 is awesome! I always buy the Star Wars one and bought the City and Friends one for my kids last year. My husband actually mentioned feeling left out though, so good excuse to buy Harry Potter! Which one to keep for me though…

  11. Carolynn G Burwick says:

Last year I did the Friends one and really liked it! Not sure which one I’ll do this year. Normally I’m tempted by anything Harry Potter, but that one doesn’t look terribly exciting compared to the others (unless you’re really into minifigs, which I’m not. I like to build things!)

  12. Andy says:

I dropped them an email last year about the amount of spoiled surprises on the Star Wars one, and their response was that “the surprise is which one you’re going to get on that day!”

I’ll still be getting the Star Wars one this year though!
