2024 LEGO Year of the Dragon Chinese Zodiac GWP revealed!

Here’s your very first look at the 2024 LEGO Chinese Zodiac promotional set – 40611 Year of the Dragon!

The images for this set were first unearthed by Dylan Chow on Instagram, who found it on LEGO’s Store on JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce marketplace.

The dragon looks fantastic and features a massive burst of colour and just looks adorable. I love that he’s also on a base with clouds, as opposed to the ground bases like previous LEGO Chinese Zodiac Animals – reflecting the mythical nature of the Dragon.

We don’t have a release date for this yet, but if we go by the 2023 Year of the Rabbit GWP, this might be available from 15-25 January 2024 with purchases of US$85 / €85 / £80, assuming the promotional period stays the same.

This will be the 10th LEGO Chinese Zodiac promotional set so far, which means we’re one year closer to completing the full set! After the Dragon, all that’s left is the Snake, and Horse, and maybe a remake of the Goat/Sheep as being the first one, it was slightly different than all the other subsequent Zodiac Animals.

I absolutely love collecting these and can’t wait to get my hands on 40611 Year of the Dragon when it’s out in January 2024!

2024 is the Year of the Dragon and there’s going to be plenty of awesome builds celebrating the king of the Chinese Zodiac like 80112 Auspicious Dragon as well as a cute 31145 Red Dragon Creator set!
