A pretty pair of Macaw Parrots kickstarts the LEGO Art Fauna Collection in 2024

LEGO.com has given us our very first look at a new LEGO Art set 31211 Macaw Parrots that’s slated for a 1 January 2024 release date.

LEGO Art has been exploring very rich and interesting ground in 2023, from Japanese woodblock prints, comic book royalty 31209 The Amazing Spider-Man, and even the weird and unexpected world of Modern Art.

in 2024, LEGO Art looks to animals and creatures with the 644-piece 31211 Macaw Parrots, featuring two brightly coloured Macaw Parrots in an eye-catching 2D style, with a very pleasing-to-the-eye pastel colour palette.

Designed to be hung up on the wall (like most LEGO Art sets), I really like what LEGO have done with this set, and can see myself being drawn to pick this up when its launched on 1 January 2024.

One very fascinating thing about this set is that it has “The Fauna Collection” featured prominently on the box. This sounds like an “animal-centered” version of LEGO’s Botanical Collection, which has carved out a very successful niche in the business of plastic plants, flowers and the world of LEGO Flora.

I’m really looking forward to seeing where else LEGO takes the Fauna Collection in 2024 and beyond.

31211 Macaw Parrots looks great. The aesthetics of the set are incredible, and I love the clever use of brick orientation, layers, colours and contrast to bring these parrots to life.

I really like these, and these weren’t previously on my radar, but after seeing these photos, I’ll be putting them on top of my shopping list for 1 January 2024, alongside 21345 Polaroid OneStep Camera.

While we don’t have global pricing yet as LEGO hasn’t officially revealed the set on their online shop, I sure hope these aren’t too pricey.
