Disney Magic will be a future LEGO Ideas set!
LEGO Ideas has announced the winner of the 100 Years of Fairytales challenge, with Disney Magic by 2A2A being selected to become a future LEGO Ideas set!
The submission depicts a large brick-built Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia, as well as miniature builds from a variety of iconic Disney movies.
The most interesting aspect of the set is the inclusion of minifigurses, with characters such as:
- Belle and the magic rose from Beauty and the Beast
- Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian, from the Little Mermaid
- Sultan’s palace and the flying Carpet, from Aladdin
- Stitch riding the wave, from Lilo and Stitch
- Elsa from Frozen working the ice magic
- Pinocchio and the wooden raft (from the chase with whale Monstro)
This might be a great opportunity for LEGO to introduce a Belle minifigure from Beauty and the Beast, which LEGO Disney fans have been long clamouring for now that we have key princesses from the 2023 Disney Castle.
Of course, the final model may change drastically, as will the minifigures and characters depicted, so we’ll have to wait to see what the LEGO Ideas team and Disney come up with, but this already looks like a winner to me!
There’s a massive pipeline of LEGO Ideas sets that are coming soon and are in various stages of production which we can now add Disney Magic to!
What characters or Disney builds are you hoping to see in the final build?
