For Mar10 Day, LEGO have revealed 71423 Dry Bowser Castle, a 1,321-piece Expansion Set that invites LEGO Super Mario fans to rescue Purple Toad from within the deep, dark depths of the castle.
Look out for enemies like Magmaargh!, Bone Piranha Plant and Bone Goomba as well as Purple Toad to rescue in the set.
71423 Dry Bowser Castle will retail for US$109.99 / AU$169.99 / €104.99 / £94.99 and will be released on 1 August 2023.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get any announcements for Super Mario Bros Movie sets… or even minifigures, and none of my predictions panned out! Maybe next time!
The YouTube premiere ended with a teaser of what’s to come for the LEGO® Super Mario™ universe. Excitingly, the teaser showed a new brick-built character, Donkey Kong, is coming to the LEGO Super Mario universe this Summer 2023!
This was probably the most exciting thing, and Donkey Kong actually looks pretty good, and it’s interesting that he’s brick-built and doesn’t look to have any interactive qualities, although Mario can ride him.
Expect to see more in Summer 2023!

Given the hype, not sure this is what anyone was hoping for. They seem like a natural progression rather than something big. DK is a cool addition but not sure it’s adding much if no functionality. But that might be an indication that they understand we want something more than just more of the same.
