LEGO 71426 Piranha Plant joins the Super Mario theme in November!

LEGO have suddenly announced 71426 Piranha Plant, a new LEGO Super Mario set aimed at adults which lets fans build their own brick-built model of the deadly Piranha Plant, one of Mario’s most iconic nemesis.

The LEGO Piranha Plant has a release date of 6 November 2023, and will be available exclusively from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store, with a very respectable US$59.99 / AU$94.99 / £57.99, making it the most affordable LEGO Mario set aimed at adults.

If you’re planning to pick up the Piranha Plant when it launches in November, please consider using these affiliate links as I may receive a small commission with each purchase that goes a long way in supporting the work I do on the blog.

This looks like a really fun build, and one that won’t break the bank, which LEGO fans will be thankful of. It makes for a snazzy LEGO Mario-themed desk ornament and one could argue that it’s the latest addition to the Botanical Collection.

And no, it doesn’t have any digital play functions which means it’s purely ornamental.

The LEGO Piranha Plant follows in the footsteps of 2020’s 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System, 2021’s  71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block and 2022’s 71411 The Mighty Bowser.

The LEGO Piranha Plant measures over 9 in. (23 cm) high, 4.5 in. (11 cm) wide and 6.5 in. (17 cm) deep.

This is honestly such a cool set, and I really enjoy the mid-range pricetag on this. I think LEGO have nailed the Piranha Plant’s look, and with it being relatively affordable, I can see this one being quite popular, especially as it’s purely an Adults set and will pull in fans of Mario as well.

71426 Piranha Plant will be released on 6 November 2023 and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

What do you think of the LEGO Piranha Plant? Does this appeal to you?
