LEGO have suddenly announced 71426 Piranha Plant, a new LEGO Super Mario set aimed at adults which lets fans build their own brick-built model of the deadly Piranha Plant, one of Mario’s most iconic nemesis.

This looks like a really fun build, and one that won’t break the bank, which LEGO fans will be thankful of. It makes for a snazzy LEGO Mario-themed desk ornament and one could argue that it’s the latest addition to the Botanical Collection.
And no, it doesn’t have any digital play functions which means it’s purely ornamental.
The LEGO Piranha Plant follows in the footsteps of 2020’s 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System, 2021’s 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block and 2022’s 71411 The Mighty Bowser.

The LEGO Piranha Plant measures over 9 in. (23 cm) high, 4.5 in. (11 cm) wide and 6.5 in. (17 cm) deep.

This is honestly such a cool set, and I really enjoy the mid-range pricetag on this. I think LEGO have nailed the Piranha Plant’s look, and with it being relatively affordable, I can see this one being quite popular, especially as it’s purely an Adults set and will pull in fans of Mario as well.
71426 Piranha Plant will be released on 6 November 2023 and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

I love it! What a throwback. Definitely picking up at least two to build. Very cool.
Pretty cool to get a really affordable and sophisticated display piece!
Goin’ next to PAC-MAN!
This will make a great display set with the ? Block. It can fit in well on shelves or small areas.
One of the true Lego joys – those sets that make you smile every time you see them. The Mario designers truly have the best job in the world.
And what a great idea to release more affordable “adult” sets.
This is an awesome set, especially with how affordable it is.
However I think a bigger scale Mario or something more recognizable than the piranha plant maybe should have been made first
