LEGO 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds is a feature-packed compact model inspired by LEGO Architecture

LEGO has officially revealed 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds , showcasing an awesome midi-sized microscale Hogwarts Castle that’s set to be released on 1 September 2023.

Update: LEGO have officially revealed global pricing! See below for regional pricing and product pages.

This compact model draws inspiration from LEGO Architecture (complete with the name plaque on the diorama frame) and shrinks down Hogwarts to a 2,660-piece model that doesn’t compromise on aesthetics.

The compact design and footprint of the set is perhaps a tacit acknowledgement by LEGO that not everybody can afford a 71043 Hogwarts Castle, which retails for US$469.99 / AU$699.99, or necessarily have the space for a gargantuan display piece.

This microscale Hogwarts is so much more practical, and I hope is a trend that continues as LEGO produces more mid-ranged sets that in my opinion, are more accessible to fans.

The design itself captures the towers and spires of Hogwarts quite well, and is filled with plenty of references to key events and sections, such as the Chamber of Secrets, the Durmstrang Ship, the Weasley’s Ford Anglia getting stuck on the Whomping Willow, and even the Beauxbatons Carriage making a landing.

For minifigure fans, the set also comes with an exclusive Architect of Hogwarts minifigure, which looks resplendent in pearl gold. Really like the new beard on him too!

LEGO are on to a winner with this one, and having had the opportunity to see this in the flesh, I think LEGO Harry Potter fans are going to love this one, especially those that don’t own the larger Hogwarts Castle.

I for one, am glad that this isn’t another mega-sized and mega-priced LEGO set!

What do you think of 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds? Would you like to see more sets in this format and scale?

I still cant decide if I will bring back my castle and grounds to the lego store to buy the 2018 hogwarts castle. please send help….

  2. Manca says:

Hi, since this set is missing a quidditch field – do you reckon this year’s polybag Quidditch practice 30651 set is meant to be/could be incorporated into the Hogwarts grounds part?

  3. Paul says:

not having the separate bits or money for hogwarts, this is ideal. theyve crammed so much detail into it. I can put the thestrals, hogwarts express outside of it.

  4. Nick says:

Sorry but I won’t buy anything Harry Potter ever again. Not until JK Rowling apologizes to the trans community and will treat them like human beings. Every dollar spent on the brand pays royalties to her hateful pockets.

  5. Mahouko says:

See i wish this was what rivendell got, i dont have room for those big sets… . Not even a Harry Potter fan but i love the look of this set.

  6. Manca Urh says:

Got the modular version for my kids (still in boxes waiting for them to grow up a bit :D) but I think this one is for me! Love this version since it is not too big and love the water area around it. Perfect!

  7. Andrew Gardiner says:

It looks great but it is not exactly small. 48×32 studs means it is the same area as the Assembly Square modular building.
Doing an exchange rate conversion suggests that the Australian price will be about $280

  8. Minister Sir says:

They need to make an $800 to-minifig-scale monster piece Hogwarts set… for the die-hards like myself.

    • Julian says:

Agree, they needed to one up themselves and go bigger not smaller. These architecture like sets are harder to justify from a value for money perspective. The big ones have something grand to show for themselves and make it personally more justified in spending three money

    • djmouka says:

Did you consider stitching minifig scale HP 2018–2023 sets together?
They all do have a modular building style connectors and – YES – you can make a gigantic UCS set out of it.

  9. Gina says:

I like it, I like it alot. Love how it has the rooms below as well.

  10. Ls says:

Looks great, but where is the Quidditch pitch?

  11. Katelyn says:

I love this, for someone who doesn’t have much room to leave sets as displays I think having the scaled down version works wonderfully!
