If you follow the Jay’s Brick Blog Facebook Page, you’d probably have seen my post yesterday on really cheap Wave 6 LEGO Dimensions sets. Today is the 18th of November, and Wave 7 is now available for purchase and they’re also ridiculously cheap!
Check out the LEGO Dimensions section of the website. This only appears to be active for the Australian and New Zealand online stores.
I’m not really sure if this is some sort of glitch, but I’ve made two orders on the site and everything seems to be above board.
This is a really great time to pick up the following sets:
- 71253 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them™ Story Pack – $15.99
- 71256 Gremlins™ Team Pack – $12.99
- 71244 Sonic the Hedgehog™ Level Pack – $9.99
- 71257 Tina Goldstein Fun Pack – $6.99
- 71258 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial™ Fun Pack – $6.99
- 71251 A-Team™ Fun Pack – $6.99
If you’ve been following my reviews of LEGO Dimension sets, you’d have known that I’m a big fan of the theme (more so the minifigures and characters) but not of the high pricing, especially for LEGO fans who don’t have or want to play the video games.
I’m super excited for Sonic, ET and the Fantastic Beasts sets! Look out for reviews of them soon!
This certainly makes the sets a LOT more appealing. Hope you got in while you can and here’s hoping the orders aren’t cancelled en masse. Most of Wave 6 sets have already sold out.
Hey Jay any idea what happened to these dimension sets? I can’t find them on the AU Lego site anywhere and they do not show up as sold out either. Wondering WTH happened to them 🙁
Ah, I just checked and it looks like they’ve reverted the prices all back to normal!
Not listing E.T, Gremlins or Sonic either…we must have bought them out, thanks to you 😀
There are SO many of these packs being offloaded on the local Buy Sell Swap pages! This was such a great “sale”, i hope they do this again!
ANZ should get a better deal!
Like your reviews – really good and its great you are prepared to say when a set is good or bad and why – never know what reviews to trust online these days but yours are the ? knees
Thanks so much, I’m very glad that you like them! I really enjoy writing them, which helps.
I paid the delivery charge and bought wave 7 packs it was too good a deal to not do – even thought about ordering more and selling them here in Nz but didn’t – – got the ghostbusters portal pack for $19.99 – it’s $95.99 here ! Bought sonic, et, a team, ghostbusters, the other fantastic beasts one – couldn’t get fantastic beasts portal pack as that price had changed – really wish I hadn’t bough Harry Potter and mission impossible last week in Nz for full price but still happy to get the other special deals – thanks for the post !!!
Cool! It’s nice to get some great deals for ANZ since we get shafted most of the time!
You’re welcome and I’m very glad I could help!
Hi thanks Jay just saw this post and put an order in -but Fantastic Beasts is full priced so couldn’t buy it -doh!
Bummer! Did you still manage to get some of the other cheap ones?
I changed region to New zealand but price stayed the same so is it actually in USD – how come Stay Puft is $39 but the Gremlins team pack is only $12.99? It says you have to spend $400 to get free delivery – such a shame – my order for the cheap items only comes to $70 – anyone want to share an order – im in Auckland. x
Ah it appears that some of the prices have reverted back to normal. But on the Aussie site, some of them are still cheap like the Adventure Time ones.
No idea why LEGO haven’t discounted the older ones like Stay Puft. I’d buy so many of them if they were around the same price range!
Are these prices a mistake? ?
Nope! They’re still on there and both my orders have shipped!
I think you guys in Australia are lucky. We live in Indonesia and cannot access Lego online store at all. It ends up with highly marked up prices at retail stores. *sigh
Yeah, hopefully things get better for you guys. It used to be like that in Malaysia as well, but they’ve made some changes and sales/discounts actually do exist now!
Wow! As soon as I saw this I bought all the year two packs I didn’t have (minus Fantastic Beasts story pack and Mission Impossible level pack because they were sold out) This is great! If it stays like this I’ll probably complete year 2. Thanks for telling me about this!
Awesome! I just hope they expand these to the older sets too. I’ve got my eye on the Midway pack for the longest time.
It’s moved to Completed! IT’S HAPPENING.GIF!
Shhh Jay, not till my order is confirmed 🙂 I’ve just ordered all but the Adventure Time team pack (sold out at the time). Even wore the shipping charge – when you’re getting $80 sets for $16, I’ll wear an extra $30.
Plus, this is the only way you can get Fantastic Beasts Lego for now (ie only in Dimensions), along with Sonic, Gremlins and ET.
My first order shipped! I’m so happy about this. If Dimensions are priced like this all the time, I’d probably collect them all.
Maybe this was an early ‘Black Friday’ sale for us poorly treated Aussies & New Zealanders.
I can’t think of anything else??
Like Jay, I myself made 2 orders & hope that everybody’s orders go through….
But the $200 Free Delivery Threshold is a Total Farce!!
I know the stock is coming from a warehouse in Europe but Seriously LEGO?
Show some respect to your Down Under fans who give you our hard earned money.
AFOL Fans of LEGO in Sydney should recall the large LEGO CENTRE in Birkenhead Point, Drummoyne in the late 1980’s. I believe it was the largest of its kind in the world at that time!!!!
Now, fast forward nearly 30 years & where are the Official LEGO Stores!!??!!
C’mon LEGO, I just want to walk into an Official LEGO Store in Sydney or Melbourne, hand over my VIP Card & buy something with a free VIP Bonus in hand without having to fork out $200+ every time to avoid expensive Shipping fees.
Sorry for the rant everyone 🙂
From a seriously frustrated Down Under AFOL.
The prices are still the same and my first order shipped, so I do think this was somewhat intentional!
But yeah, I do think that compared to other countries, we’ve got it tough when it comes to shopping online.
As I mentioned in my comments to HammerDragon, I do expect this to change when Asia gets their own e-commerce capabilities/warehousing but until then.. We’re kinda stuck in the middle of nowhere.
But hey, at least we get constant discounts from Aussie retailers!
What seriously pisses me off, is the ridiculous amount of money you need to spend over here to get Lego to deliver them. $200 just to get free postage. Total horse shit and there needs to be a better and cheaper way. Can you imagine on the above. One set through Lego would cost you twice as much in postage thatn for the set!
Hopefully the Lego Discovery Centre that opens next year will assist here. I recently purchased the Lego winter train plus a Nexo Knights set to go over the $200. Forgot the Power Functions that are required and to order them separately (as no shops stock them) cost me over $80+$35 postage.
Getting fed up seeing constant updates about the new Leicester Sq store (biggest in Europe) when down under we’re forced to pay over the odds through lego.com or in the hands of the dept stores and toy stores that invariably sell the same sets and nowhere near all of them. Feeling like a 2nd class citizen and lego don’t value my patronage!
Im with you, Mr. Hammerdragon.
I totally get the frustration, and yeah, I agree that if you’re looking to purchase smaller orders online, it’s simply not worth it.
That said, we are kinda in a tough place with our orders shipped out from the European store.
Ive just changed my behaviour to only buy stuff from LEGO.com if I can hit the free shipping threshold. We’re already quite lucky here in Australia as retailers are constantly discounting sets that you don’t really need to order online unless you want a specific bonus.
I do believe this will eventually get better. LEGO is currently looking to build their e-commerce capabilities in Asia, so I think when they get around to building warehouses/shipping hub in Asia, hopefully that will make it a lot more cost effective to ship to Australia.
I feel that this will happen sooner rather than later!
