LEGO Mini Disney Castle (40478) and 40499 Santa’s Sleigh Revealed!

Two small LEGO sets have been revealed overnight, including a Mini Disney Castle, and what will undoubtedly be one of the most popular sets heading into Christmas – 40499 Santa’s Sleigh!

UPDATE: I’ve now published my review of 40499 Santa’s Sleigh, which will be released on 1 October 2021!

Ever wanted a LEGO Reindeer Battle Pack? It’s now possible thanks to 40499 Santa’s Sleigh, a small, seasonal LEGO set that has been revealed by a Malaysian Toy retailer and the Dreamworld LEGO Store.

40499 Santa’s Sleigh has a release date of 1 October 2021, and will be priced at US$36.99/AU$59.99, and be available from LEGO.com

As the name suggests, the set features a Santa Claus minifigure, pulled by not one, not two, but FOUR (!) LEGO Reindeer!

First making an appearance in last year’s Winter Village set, 10254 Elf Club House, these LEGO Reindeer have traditionally been very expensive, so getting 4 of them, plus an elaborate Santa Sleigh seems like a fantastic deal.

There are no pricing or release date, but I expect the set to be priced under US$50, and be released in October.

Another exciting reveal, courtesy of LEGO Mexico is 40478 Mini Disney Castle, which has officially been unveiled! The set, which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Disney World, is a miniaturized version of 71040 Disney Castle, which is fantastic for news for those on a budget, or have space constraints.

UPDATE: Check out my review of the mini Disney Castle to see more of the set ahead of its 1 October 2021 release!

The set comes with one Mickey Mouse minifigure, dressed smartly in a tuxedo, and like Santa’s Sleigh, this seems like an absolute winner.

Again, no price or release details yet, but this looks like another sub-US$50 set, and I expect this to be officially available on 1 October, which is the official date of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.

I’m in love with these 2 small sets, and after an onslaught of super-sized and expensive LEGO set, it’s just so nice seeing LEGO also produce some entry-level heavy hitters.

I guess now that these 2 sets have been revealed, I can say that I’ll be reviewing them very soon, so keep an eye out on the blog and my social media to find out when the reviews drop!
