LEGO officially reveals 21345 Polaroid OneStep Camera, surprisingly cheaper than the real thing

LEGO have officially revealed the 53rd LEGO Ideas set, the highly anticipated 21345 Polaroid OneStep Camera, a detailed brick-built re-creation of the iconic Polaroid SX-70 Onestep Camera that will be available from 1 January 2024 onwards.

This 516-piece model will retail for a very respectable US$79.99 / AU$89.99 and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store from 1 January 2024, however you can also pre-order the set today!

Really surprised at how affordable this is in Australia and was almost sure the price supplied was a typo as the US price would’ve translated to about AU$120. We don’t often get a win Down Under with pricing, but this was a very pleasant surprise.

See below to preorder from regional product pages:

In Australia, pre-orders are available from the LEGO Certified Store website where you can click and collect on the 1st.

If you plan on purchasing the set or pre-ordering, please consider using the affiliate links above as I may earn a small commission with each successful purchase. It goes a long way in supporting the work I do on the blog!

Here’s a look at the back of the box. The LEGO Polaroid Camera measures 9cm (3.5 in.) wide, 9cm (3.5 in.) tall and 15cm (5.9 in.) deep.

I’m still pleasantly surprised by the price. Fun fact, the LEGO Polaroid Camera is cheaper than buying an actual modern Polaroid-branded camera from Polaroid themselves. Wild!

One of the key features of the LEGO Polaroid Camera is the buildable Polaroid Time-Zero Land Film pack and three LEGO Polaroid illustrated ‘photos’.

The camera features a working viewfinder, the iconic Color Spectrum, exposure compensation dial and a shutter button so you even can load and eject the illustrated photos.

Also included is an opening film door to load LEGO Polaroid Photos in.

It makes for a really cute display model, and will appeal to people who grew up with Polaroid cameras, as well as those who enjoy collecting retro technology and gadgets.

Check out more promotional photos supplied by LEGO below.

This is a great-looking model and with the accessible price and compact size of the model, I can see this being very popular, especially for fans looking to jump in and enjoy all the new 1 January 2024 releases!

21345 Polaroid OneStep Camera will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store from 1 January 2024, but pre-orders are open now!

What do you think of the LEGO Polaroid Camera? Will you be picking it up on the 1st of January?

I just went online to pre-order and I can’t see where it lets you do it. Am I missing something?

“SURPRISINGLY CHEAPER THAN THE REAL THING”. You’re surprised that a camera made out of bricks is cheaper that an actual camera that takes real photos on film? What a surprisingly silly thing to say.

bruh theres a lego set that costs 650 dollars and youre surprised that he said its less cheap than the real thing

I get your point, but maybe Jay was commenting that there aren’t many 1:1 scaleLEGO replicas that cost less than their real life counterpart.

As a camera fan and Lego fan, I love this
    But its overpriced
One big reason I was looking forward to this was since it has 516 pieces, it would probably be around $50, and therefore pretty affordable
Why is it $80? That’s overpriced! It should be $50, at most $60.
C’mon Lego, please stop charging ridiculously overpriced prices on some stuff for no apparent reason. I think I speak for most Lego fans that prices on some Lego fans make no sense, they are way too much. The best example is the hoopty set $90 for 420 pieces? It should cost half the price! There are unfortunately many more examples of sets that are $10, $20, or more over what makes sense. Enough is enough
