LEGO Speed Champions adds Paul Walker’s Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) from 2 Fast 2 Furious!

Exciting news for LEGO Speed Champions and Japanese automotive fans! German retailer JB Spielwaren has unveiled an upcoming Speed Champions set 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, which is set to be released on 3 January 2023!

Featuring a Paul Walker minifigure, it also features his signature Nissan Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious in grey and blue livery. And yes, the Nissan Skyline is right-hand drive as you’d expect from a Japanese import.

It’s a fantastic tribute to Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Connor who helmed the first few Fast and Furious movies. Paul Walker tragically died on 30 November 2013, something that affected the millions of Fast & Furious fans deeply.

Check out the back, which is the most important aspect of the Nissan Skyline. LEGO and Speed Champions designer Chris Stamp, really nailed the Skyline’s iconic taillights.

It’s really exciting to see LEGO and the Speed Champions line lean into more licensed movie properties, after giving us 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 from James Bond, and 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T from the Fast & Furious franchise in 2022.

It’s absolutely exquisite, and from these photos, you can see that there’s a new rim element, and plenty of other cool details as well.

For the first time ever, we have printed and decorated wheel arches, allowing the blue pattern to extend all the way to the back properly! A huge leap forward for Speed Champions design!
