Magical 750,000-piece LEGO Disney Castle is a majestic celebration of Disney 100

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, LEGO Australia commissioned one of the most impressive builds I’ve ever seen in my life – this enormous 750,000-piece LEGO Disney Castle, surrounded by life-sized statues of some of Disney’s most iconic characters.

Built by LEGO’s Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, this incredible build was first unveiled at Westfield Doncaster in Melbourne on 23 June, and has been making it’s way around Australia, heading to Brisbane, and now Sydney.

It wraps up its Australian tour on 16 July, at Westfield Bondi Junction, so if you want to see this in person, this weekend will be your last chance here in Australia.

This is the LEGO Disney Castle to end all other LEGO Disney Castles and is just a sight to behold, with incredible colours that help is almost gleam in the distance.

At this size and scale, you can do incredible things with the design, and you can really only get a sense of how large and detailed it is when you see it up close.

One of the fantastic things about the display is that it’s a true 360° model, and you can admire it from all sorts of angles. My favourite vantage point is actually from above, as you can peer beyond the outer grey walls into the Castle and notice just how densely packed it is with bricks.

To accentuate the Castle, LEGO have also built these large, almost life-sized statues of iconic Disney characters – from Princesses, to animated icons, there’s some heavy-hitters on show here.

Of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse proudly stand guard at the entrance.

I also really like this poignant nod to Walt Disney and Mickey.

The statues really complement the already-impressive castle, adding familiar faces and splashes of colour surrounding the castle.

As they’re life-sized, you can also truly appreciate just how the likenesses of Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Elsa, Anna, Tiana, Woody, and Pinocchio are captured at this scale.

My favourite statues were Moana – I love how imposing and fearless she looks with her pose.

And also Pinocchio, who is such a little cutie sitting on the floor.

Of course, like most great LEGO creations, it’s really one of those builds that you HAVE to see it in person, as photos don’t quite do it justice. If you follow me on Instagram, you might’ve also seen the video of its unveiling, which also includes a video tour of the build.

If you’re in Sydney, this weekend is the final chance to see this magnificent Disney 100th Anniversary Castle, at Westfield Bondi Junction. It’s final day being available to be seen by the public will be Sunday, 16 July 2023, so don’t miss out if you’re in Sydney!

Were you lucky enough to see this Disney Castle in person? What did you think of it?
