Official photos and set details of LEGO 71016 Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart

March 12, 2015 By Jay 1 Comment

LEGO 71016 Simpsons Kwik E Mart

Yahoo.com has officially announced and revealed the LEGO Kwik-E-Mart (set number 71016), the follow up to last year’s Simpsons House. The Kwik-E-Mart, one of Springfield’s most iconic landmarks weighs in at 2179 pieces and will cost $199.99 in America, which is the same price as The Simpsons House.

The release date for LEGO VIP members will be from 14-30 April, with a general release probably on the 1st of May for everyone else.

If all things remain the same, I expect the Australian price of the Kwik-E-Mart to be around $329.99 like the Simpsons House.

UPDATE: The listing for the Kwik-E-Mart has gone up on LEGO.com and my prediction was right! The Australian price is now confirmed at $329.99 with a 1 May 2015 release date. Like all big exclusives, there should be a pre-order window for VIP members to get early access to the set, possibly 2 weeks before the official release.

Be sure to check out the newly released designer video for a behind-the-scenes look at the Kwik-E-Mart!

LEGO 71016 Simpsons Kwik E Mart - Interior

Like the Simpsons House, the Kwik-E-Mart opens up like a dollhouse to reveal a pretty colourful and vibrant interior of Springfield’s favourite convenience store. According to the description, the Kwik-E-Mart set includes “light-blue walls, dusty blue floors, turquoise welcome mat, shelves, refrigerated cases, counter, Buzz Cola soda fountain, juice dispensers, coffee machine, two arcade games, ATM, crates of Powersauce bars, surveillance cameras, rear storage closet with a rat, cheese, rat hole, and an exit door.”

LEGO 71016 Simpsons Kwik E Mart - Minifigures

The minifigures included in this set are Apu in his uniform, Marge Simpson, Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson (which all look very similar to their previous versions), a new Chief Wiggum with a stained police uniform torso and of course, notorious criminal, Snake who makes his debut as a Simpsons minifigure.

The Kwik-E-Mart has shelves packed with fictional brands from The Simpsons such as Krusty-O’s, Chef Lonelyheart’s Soup for One, Buzz beverages, and Powersauce bars.

It’s really hard to tell what it looks like from the photos but the Kwik-E-Mart looks to be stuffed with all sorts of details and printed elements which are a must-have for any diehard Simpsons fan.

LEGO 71016 Simpsons Kwik E Mart - Rooftop Garden

Last but not least is the rooftop which features an urban garden.

Pretty cool! I count myself  as a very happy owner of The Simpsons House which is still on display in my room, so I will definitely pick this set up, but maybe not immediately.

It looks small, but I think it looks pretty awesome and it’s great to have more familiar locales from Springfield in LEGO form. With Series 2 of The Simpsons minifigures due in a few months, there’s a lot to look forward to if you’re a fan of LEGO Simpsons minifigures.

I’m also glad that we get Chief Wiggum’s patrol car but the absence of Eddie and Lou is unfortunate. I think the minifigures are a little lackluster, with Snake the only real standout from the bunch.

What do you think? Will the Kwik-E-Mart go on your to-buy list? Let me know in the comments what you think!

Thank you, come again!

I’m a 28-year old kid who is crazy about the Simpsons! I even have a huge tattoo on my right leg with the family 🙂
Of course I’ve got the Simpsons’ lego house, all the minifigures from the very 1st series and definitely I’ll buy this marvelous #71016 as soon as it’s available here in Russia! ))))
I’m happy that Lego cooperates with Matt Groening and issues such wonderful releases!

Pack your walking stick because we're going on an Pack your walking stick because we're going on an adventure to explore the LEGO Hundred Acre Wood with @lego LEGO 21326 Winnie the Pooh!

To celebrate its 95th anniversary, Winnie the Pooh & friends will make their LEGO debut in this 1,265-piece set that will retail for US$99.99 / AU$159.99 / £89.99.

The set's release date is 18 March 2021 for LEGO VIP members, and 1 April 2021 for a wider release and will be available on LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

It's pretty clear that LEGO have yet another winner on their hands with Winnie the Pooh. An eternal favourite of any generation, Winnie the Pooh's carefree, joyous nature is just the antidote we need in these troubling times, and I'm so glad that LEGO have done a terrific job with this set.

Stay tuned for my full review tomorrow!
8 years ago, our lives changed forever as we embar 8 years ago, our lives changed forever as we embarked on this crazy adventure as husband and wife!

Last year was definitely the most unprecedented™ one yet, but one that I will treasure forever.

It was an incredibly challenging year, having had to navigate through multiple job changes, yet you have never once wavered with your support and faith that I would find my feet eventually.

I might have caused some sleepless nights when work was uncertain, yet you continued to be a pillar of strength to our family, and by God's eternal grace, we always seem to come out on top.

Working from home has been truly enjoyable, especially now that you get a glimpse into the banality of work life, Zoom calls, meetings that could be emails, corporate jargon and why there must always at least 2 mugs on my desk at all times.

Thanks for taking on a second job as WFH Office Manager, tolerating my Amazon addiction and sticking around in spite of my crippling caffeine addiction.

Happy anniversary, love and here's to many more happy years ❤️

Today is "Chap Goh Meh" or the Lantern Festival, t Today is "Chap Goh Meh" or the Lantern Festival, the final day of Chinese New Year. 🏮

It's a bit of a strange one this year, with the pandemic throwing plans into disarray, and my family being further away than usual, so celebrations were a little different in 2021.

Thank you @LEGO for an excellent range of Chinese Traditional Festival sets. 🙏

@little.ong (and myself) really loved the Duplo Happy Childhood Moments set, and I especially enjoyed the new dumplings element! 🥟

Spring Lantern Festival is one of the best LEGO sets I've had the pleasure of building, and I also appreciated the foray into the mythological origins of Lunar New Year with Story of Nian. 🧨🧧🎆

More sets that celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the world, please! 🌏

For #Ninjago fans, it doesn’t get much better than this. 71747 The Keeper’s Village is packed with value and is a great centerpiece to Season 14 – The Island.

I have a soft spot for location, or structure-based Ninjago builds, so The Keeper’s Village strikes that itch in the best of ways.

The jungle lair sets the scene and provides a rich backdrop that works really well as a small playset and display piece.

Combined with a very generous helping of 5 minifigures, there’s a ton of value and playability built into the set, especially the stone pillar which works remarkably well as a “big enemy” for the Ninjas to deal with – it very much gives off a “mini-boss in a video game vibe”.

The highlights for me would be Chief Mammatus and Thunder Keeper’s designs. As a big fan of the Islanders theme, I love that #LEGO could callback to those designs in a fresh new way, utilising the tech and innovation that’s now possible through minifigure design.

Whether you’re an adult fan looking for a set that’s a bit more kiddy, outlandish and fun, or you’re planning to buy this for a young child who wants an engaging playset, I can highly recommend 71747 The Keeper’s Village.

Rating and score: 4/5 ★★★★✰
