Two more brilliant LEGO City and Friends Space sets coming in April!

LEGO have unveiled two new Space-themed sets from City and Friends that are set to launch in April! If you haven’t already picked up on it, 2024 is the year of LEGO Space, and we’ve been thoroughly spoiled with Space-themed sets across a ton of LEGO themes.

Thanks to LEGO.com and the Australian LEGO Certified Store, we will be getting two new Space sets in April 2024!

42602 Space Research Rover (514 pieces)

Not content with conquering Modern Architecture, LEGO Friends has once again knocked it out of the galaxy with this incredible looking Space Research Rover. Just look at the curves, and SNOT-goodness across the design, and the immaculate use of colours.

It’s a LEGO Friends set, but this easily ranks as one of the best LEGO Space designs ever, and will be an instant classic. It’s actually crazy that this an official LEGO set, let alone in the LEGO Friends theme.

Oh and there’s a cute Space Dog too!

60439 Space Science Lab

On the LEGO City quadrant of Space, we have 60439 Space Science Lab which is designed as an expansion set to 60434 Space Base and Rocket Launchpad, utilising the airlock element.

There’s a couple of other fun things in the set, such as an Astronaut in a Wheelchair (which can also be attached to thrusters!), as well as a new Alien companion the space crew has enlisted!

These two are really fun sets for Space fans, but 42602 Space Research Rover is really the standout here with its curvy design.

Also, according to designer Wes Talbott, there’s also a nod to 6815 Hovertron from Exploriens in the form of the detachable exploration hovercraft, as if the set could not get any better?!

Absolutely can’t wait for April and to share my review of the Rover, so keep an eye out for that!
