Vote for the best LEGO set of 2022!

The annual Jay’s Brick Blog Best LEGO Set of 2022 community vote returns! 2022 has been one of the BIGGEST years yet for new LEGO releases, and with LEGO also celebrating its 90th Anniversary, it feels like LEGO absolutely brought their A-Game this year.

This is a fully democratic reader vote, so I’m placing the power in your hands to help decide the best LEGO set of 2022!

There will be 2 parts to this vote: first, nominate your vote for the best LEGO set of 2022 via this Google Form– all you need to do is enter the set number and/or the set name by 11.59pm AEDT Saturday, 24 December.

I have also included 2 optional votes for Best LEGO Minifigure and LEGO theme – feel free to answer those as well as I’ll collate the results and publish the data at the end. These 2 questions won’t be decided through the elimination bracket.

The second part will see results from the survey, providing the seeding for Top 16 sets, which will go into a Tournament Bracket, where we’ll pit each set against each other for a vote on the Jay’s Brick Blog Facebook Page and Instagram Page to determine who the ultimate winner is!

Last year’s vote was a huge success, and there were some unexpected and crazy upsets – here’s a look at last year’s bracket, to see how it all played out.

Really looking forward to seeing the results of this, so get your votes in before the 24th!

Oh, and as a special bonus, there will be 5 mystery prizes awarded to anyone that votes in any of the bracket rounds including… a copy of 40501 The Wooden Duck, the LEGO House Exclusive, which I picked up in Denmark. I’ll select a winner randomly from anyone who casts a vote on Facebook or Instagram, so that’s all you need to do!

Do note: the box is slightly damaged and dinged when I transported it home, so it’s not exactly in the best condition.

Stay tuned for more prize reveals when the bracket voting begins!

    Starry night!

  2. Adam says:

Dang, I found the poll half an hour too late. Ah well, all of my top 3 got nominated in decent volumes

  3. Daniel Hildreth says:

I know the expensive sets are more popular, but the speed champions DB5 is an astounding set

  4. Joe B. says:

I chose based only on sets I own so I picked Starry Night (a set I bought after being influenced by Jay’s review), but I think the Lion Knights castle or the Boutique Hotel might be better. I only resisted buying them because of cost and size, but I would not be sad to find either under my Christmas tree.

  5. Monty says:

There are a few on my top list and choosing is cruel.

    🙂

  6. CrouchingForestman says:

31129 Majestic Tiger. The greatest set produced by lego for years. Doesn’t get enough love.

The “90 years of play” would be my best theme. The Forest Hideout warmed my lonely Forestman soul. The Castle looks brilliant IRL and has an awesome minifigure selection. 11021 was a high value classic box set. The spaceship build was an expression of subtle genius. For nostalgia feels they didn’t miss a beat.

Best figure was Muppets Animal !!!

  7. Debbie Bashford says:

    done

  8. Nate Clarke says:

I do not have any social media but I would like to nominate the UCS Razors Crest, and the Lions Knight Castle.

  9. Andrew says:

No FB or Insta here, but I’d like to nominate Starry Night please. For me possibly the year’s most under-appreciated set. Even my long-suffering brick wife is happy to display that one in the living room ;). That said, I don’t own Lion Knights Castle and I’d be perfectly fine with that winning.

I wonder if it’s worth also having a “best affordable set” category, especially as we have seemingly fewer of these every year, and it might help fans who are looking for a rewarding build that doesn’t break the bank. If we set that bar at $A200 I’d nominate Galaxy Explorer. If it’s $A100, then the Orchid.

  10. Dominique De Brauwer says:

The office set for the win due to the many easter eggs in it and divercity + minifigs. Nice review by the way. Made us buy the set!

  11. Rob says:

The Eiffel Tower – monumental for architecture fans

By the way – appreciate your candor and Jo ear reviews Jay – the cost of lego increasing was an eye opener

  12. R Jones says:

Lol, u said. best of 2021!

  13. Laurie H. says:

But what if a luddite (such as myself) does not do FB or Instagram? How very sad for us. 🙁 Of course I will still vote!
