Advent Calendar 2010 – Day 13

Yesterday was a pleasant day. I was at Brickboys helping David get some Duplo for his daughter, Beth when I chanced upon a new item on their 30% discount rack, the 2010 Advent Calendar!

For those that don’t know what an Advent Calendar is, it’s basically a fun little western tradition where you take a box and cut down windows in it, filled with tiny trinkets and little gifts as a sort of countdown to Christmas Day, where you get your real present!

Now, I skipped buying this year’s calendar because I was broke. The City one was quite boring and the Star Wars one, while nice and contains a Yoda in a Santa Suit(how cool is that?!) was simply too pricey at RM110 and RM135 respectively.

I picked up the 2010 one cause I felt it was pretty affordable at RM67 because hey, I’ve always wanted an advent calendar and I figured, Day 12 ain’t so late to getting to the Christmas Countdown party! That and it also had 2 Santas in it, something I am sorely missing from my Christmas Town I’m currently working on.

Anyway, today is Day 13 and I got an adorable Toy Firetruck! I really loved building it, its got a very nice level of detail and the little wheels allow it to chug along at a respectable pace, eager to put out any toy fires in the living room!
