Four new LEGO Avatar sets unveiled at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)

LEGO have revealed four new LEGO Avatar sets at San Diego Comic Con, which is running this weekend, giving us a better glimpse into the upcoming LEGO theme inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar films.

These four sets are in addition to 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls, which was unveiled at LEGO CON 2022. The LEGO Avatar theme will be released globally on LEGO.com and at most toy stores on 1 October 2022.

The slate of sets depicts scenes from the first Avatar movie, as well as the upcoming Way of the Water which premieres in cinemas in December 2022.

If you’d like to, you can pre-order 75572 Jake & Neytiri’s First Banshee Flight from LEGO.com.

These sets look okay to me, there are some nice parts, but I’m still not sure what to make of them, as well as the new Avatar minifigures. The pricing is also a little all over the place – it seems a little crazy to charge US$90 for 75573 Floating Mountains Site 26 & RDA Samson – guess those new Direhorse elements don’t come cheap.

Also there doesn’t seem to be a lot of variety with minifigures, with each set including either Jake or Neytiri.

Check out all the new LEGO Avatar sets revealed below!

A shame they’re bringing these and not reviving the avatar theme people actually want.

I anticipate seeing these for dirt cheap in bargain bins everywhere

  2. Topcat says:

I’m kinda disappointed, I thought they would bigger like the millennium falcon.

Pre-orders for First Banshee Flight are now on Lego Australia at AU$89.99, released 01/10/22.

I assume the others will follow shortly. Strangely, the existing known set Tree of Souls does not have a pre-order option.

Not really fan of the minifigures either. I think they’d be better in Lego’s normal minifigure style, like in the corner of the box.

Brickheadz set no, Banshee set yes. Other sets maybe. I guess the licensing and unique parts are pushing up costs. On a per-brick basis they’re on the high end of the range but not excessively so.

But the figs are taller due to movie height of almost 3 meter . So it has to be obviously bigger .

    • Jay says:

They’re interesting – I really need to see them in person to make up my mind. That said, the Navi look pretty weird in the first place, so they definitely capture that “uncanny valley” vibe.

Am surprised at how affordable the smaller sets are which is always a good thing.
