    Buying Guide: Every new LEGO set releasing in May 2023 plus May the 4th promos

    And just like that, May 2023 is almost upon us and LEGO Star Wars fans are undoubtedly readying themselves for May the 4th, which will be filled with a heap of highly anticipated new LEGO Star Wars releases and promotions.

    Key releases for Star Wars Day 2023 include: 75355 UCS X-Wing Starfighter, 75352 Emperor’s Throne Room, 75353 Endor Speeder Chase, 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer, 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter, 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter VS TIE Interceptor and 40623 Battle of Endor Heroes. Scoring double VIP points on these purchases AND the excellent lineup of GWPs is as good as a deal as Star Wars fans can expect!

    Not a Star Wars fans? You can also look forward to the release of LEGO Disney 100 Minifigures, LEGO Ideas 21340 Tales of the Space Age, 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell and Technic 42156 Peugeot 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar.

    Do note that 21340 Tales of the Space Age will be available from 5 May via VIP Early Access, and 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell will be available from 4 May 2023.

    2023 LEGO May the 4th Promos and GWPs

    May is all about LEGO Star Wars, and to celebrate May the 4th 2023, you’ll be able to score double VIP Points on ALL LEGO Star Wars purchases from 1-7 May 2023.

    To sweeten the deal, you’ll also be able to score the 40591 Mini Death Star 2 GWP when you spend US$150 / AU$240 / £130 / €150 on LEGO Star Wars sets, as well as 5007840 Return of the Jedi 40th Collectible coin and 30654 X-Wing Starfighter polybag for lower spend thresholds.

    For those of you lucky enough to be in North America and Europe, LEGO are hoping to lure you in-store for May the 4th with a whopping 5x VIP Points offer for the following sets.

    If these have been on your list, 5x VIP Points is nothing to sneeze at, especially for those in Europe where you can nab 5x VIP on 75331 UCS Razor Crest, which will also trigger all the GWPs.

    LEGO VIPs can also redeem their points for a whole raft of rewards such as this limited edition numbered print of the UCS X-Wing Starfighter for 3,500 points.

    There’s this great digital poster for only 10 points, featuring the history of LEGO X-Wings.

    And you can redeem 150 points to create your very own LEGO Star Wars comic book.

    In some countries, you can enter a sweepstakes/raffle to win a limited edition Sterling Silver R2-D2 minifigure, with 50 points for each entry. Unfortunately, it seems that Australia and New Zealand aren’t included in this!

    2023 LEGO Star Wars releases

    For May the 4th (aka Star Wars Day) 2023, LEGO Star Wars fans are in for a fantastic time with sets celebrating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian up for grabs, especially with 2x VIP Points on all LEGO Star Wars sets, and a slew of GWPs such as 40591 Mini Death Star 2.

    The highlight is of course 75355 UCS X-Wing Starfighter, and the return of midi-scale with 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer, as well as 2 new Return of the Jedi dioramas, 75352 Emperor’s Throne Room and 75353 Endor Speeder Chase.

    I’ll be picking up the 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer myself, and a few other things to trigger the GWPs.

    LEGO Disney 100 Minifigures

    One of the most anticipated releases in May is the LEGO Disney 100 Minifigures with 18 new incredible Disney characters to collect. Each blind bag will retail for US$4.99 / AU$5.99 / £3.49 / €3.99 / CAD$5.99.

    Unfortunately, those of us in Australia and New Zealand will have to wait till June 2023 to get these.

    There are also 6-pack boxes that are available from LEGO.com in North America.

    LEGO Ideas 21340 Tales of the Space Age – 5 May (VIP Early Access)

    After the frenzy of Star Wars Day, we have the 3rd LEGO Ideas set of 2023, 21340 Tales of the Space Age a minimalist and beautiful take on retro sci-fi posters and aesthetics.

    It releases on 5 May 2023 for LEGO VIPs, ahead of a 7 May general release.

    It’s not for everyone, but if you appreciate design, this affordable LEGO Ideas set will be sure to uplift your work or living spaces.

    The Little Mermaid sets – 4 May 2023

    Disney’s big summer blockbuster is a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, with immensely talented Halle Bailey playing Ariel, to introduce a whole new generation to the undersea magic of The Little Mermaid.

    43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell is a large, detailed set targeted at adults, featuring a big, bold Royal Clamshell that features wonderful minifigure renditions of the cast of the live-action movie. It has a release date of 4 May 2023, except for Australia and New Zealand which will get it on 1 June 2023.

    42156 Peugeot 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar – 1 May 2023

    For Technic fans, we have 42156 Peugeot 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar which is LEGO’s first Peugeot car, based on the Le Mans Hypercar that will race in the 24 endurance this year.
