Here’s your official look at LEGO 10298 Vespa 125 – a gorgeous Italian icon come to life!

Introducing the LEGO 10298 Vespa 125, a charming brick-built rendition inspired by the iconic Vespa Piaggio!

This lovely 1,106-piece set joins the fleet of Creator Expert vehicles, and is LEGO’s second 2-wheeled vehicle after 2019’s now-retired LEGO Harley Davidson.

The LEGO Vespa will be priced at US$99.99 / AU$169.99 and has a release date of 1 March 2022, which means you’ll be able to ride into the Italian sunset on this elegant model in just a few days! It’ll be available from LEGO.com, or your local LEGO Store.

I’ll be publishing my review soon, once the embargo has lifted, so do keep an eye out for it!

The LEGO Vespa comes in a whimsical shade of baby blue, aka light royal blue which coincidentally is the same shade as 77942 Fiat 500, the Blue Fiat 500 variant that was released as a pilot program in the UK.

The LEGO Vespa’s dimensions are: Over 8.5 in. (22 cm) high, 4.5 in. (12 cm) long, 13.5 in. (35 cm) wide

The new LEGO model pays tribute to the original Vespa with its pastel pale blue colour, one of the first colours this Italian icon was made in. Fans can further celebrate the heritage of the set by adding a classic 1960s Italian license plate and the Vespa logo.

Like the original this model is full of beautiful details and sophisticated design touches. From a bunch of flowers in the bike’s basket and spare wheel to the removable engine cover, brick-built engine, kickstand and working steering, this model is sure to be one that is displayed with pride in your home or office to create your own tribute to the always in style, Italian icon.

“Working with the Vespa team to create this stunning automotive masterpiece was an incredible experience. Recreating the details of the original model to celebrate the classic 1960’s Vespa was one of my favourite parts of designing this set. The set offered me a chance to step back in time and let my imagination flow while designing, and we hope the experience is the same for fans.” said Florian Muller, Senior Designer at the LEGO Group.

Marco Lambri, Head of the Piaggio Group Design Center: “Working with the LEGO Group was an extraordinary experience, because it brought two dreams – the LEGO brand and Vespa – together, which have the unlimited expressive potential that they offer their fans in common.

Two outstanding brands able to span different ages, always able to reinvent themselves because they have the capacity to unite and to build in their DNA. As designers, the challenge was to have the soft shapes of Vespa coexist with the form of LEGO bricks, a challenge I believe we met with flying colours.”

LEGO 10298 Vespa 125 will be available on LEGO.com or at your local LEGO store from 1 March 2022.

My Brother-in-Law was a Vespa nut, he bought wrecks and did them up to like new again, he eventually got his dream job in a Vespa garage selling & servicing them in London. But sadly died at a very young age.
I always remember when he brought out a his latest project from the garage at home, looking like it had just come from the showroom.
