LEGO 40585 World of Wonders and 40584 Birthday Diorama VIP rewards now available

It’s a pleasant surprise, but today two new LEGO GWPs (gift with purchase) popped up in the LEGO VIP Rewards Centre40584 World of Wonders and 40584 Birthday Diorama, alongside all the new February 2023 releases.

If you’re in America or Canada, just wait till it ticks over to February and these should appear in your VIP Rewards Center.

The World of Wonders can be redeemed for 2700 VIP Points, and the Birthday Diorama for 2100 VIP Points.

In case you’re new to redeeming VIP Rewards, when you hit the Redeem Button, you’ll get a VIP Reward Code, which you apply to your shopping cart during the checkout process, which will add either one of these sets to your order.

As numbers might be limited, you can redeem it first, and what happens if that LEGO will put aside one set for you, so you don’t have to make an order immediately. Do note that the VIP Code only lasts for 60 days, so you should have a purchase lined up soon, to not lose the reward.

LEGO needs to be commended for this, as this is a much nicer way to redeem a GWP, as opposed to having a really high spend threshold. When 40585 World of Wonders first popped up online, I and many other feared that it would be like Houses of the World 1, and have a ridiculously high purchase threshold to qualify for it, but a VIP Reward makes it so much easier.

Add to the fact that you have 60 days to redeem it, you don’t need to be pressured to buy it immediately, and instead can wait for the moment that suits you best, such as during another GWP offer to make the most out of your online purchase.

The Birthday Diorama is also pretty cute and makes for a fun little gift, although its clear that World of Wonders is the far better choice to spend your VIP Rewards too.

Anyway, kudos to LEGO for not having an high-purchase threshold GWP this time, and for using the VIP Rewards Center for World of Wonders. I redeemed it immediately, and will look forward to using my code for my next purchase.

Oh, how much I regret that I missed the promotion for this set! Reading this comment, I can’t help but envy those who had the opportunity to take advantage of this offer. I have the impression that LEGO has done a wonderful job taking care of its customers by offering a VIP reward instead of setting a high spending threshold. It’s definitely a more enticing and customer-friendly approach.

Moreover, it’s great that you receive a whopping 60 days to redeem this reward. That allows for some time to think and wait for the right moment, especially if you can combine this promotion with other GWP offers to make the most out of online shopping.

I won’t deny that I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t manage to benefit from this opportunity, but I appreciate that others had the chance. I hope that in the future, I’ll also be able to take advantage of similar promotions, and in the meantime, congratulations to everyone who already got their hands on the World of Wonders set! I’m glad that LEGO takes care of its customers and offers such attractive rewards in the VIP Rewards center. Hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to seize similar deals in the future!

Thank you so much for the post. I have a large number of VIP points banked up that I save for when I see cool VIP rewards available. I’m glad I saw this as this set seems like a great use for those points!

Out of curiosity… 2700 points at 4.5 points per $1 means you need to spend $600 to get the points for World of Wonders. That’s much higher than GWP thresholds.

Having said that, there are plenty of double point offers (or better) and you earn points just making purchases (including PAB). It’s easier to build up points over time and spend them as desired. Having the codes valid for 60 days also allows you to wait for the next two months’ releases if there’s something later that you want to purchase.

Downside: VIP reward sets tend to sell out very quickly if you’re uncertain if you want to spend the points. You can only get one reward per order.

$600 is abhorrently high, though other GWP you dont have to hit that threshold all at once, which helps a tiny bit in making it more palatable to me. AND you get those points even when you place an order for a threshold GWP. So it’s kinda nice, to accumulate points towards them as you go along.

    • Jay says:

I wouldn’t look at it that way, but instead look at the redemption amounts for those 2700 points.

VIP points/rewards should be viewed as an opportunity cost, as opposed to raw cost to redeem them.

    • Sebastian Kupka says:

I would say biggest downside is that you are paying for the sets, just not with money.

The cost of the set is the same as the amount of VIP.

If it is GWP, you reach a threshold and it would be free.

So you would pay 200-250$ to reach the threshold or buy sets for 400-600$ months before to get a chance to buy the set for 20$.

      Which one you prefer?

  4. maks says:

i got excited because i felt i had just enough points.

not so fast, sherlock… “you are 72 points shorts from redeeming” (for the world of wonders)

    NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  5. DubC says:

So glad I got a Google recommendation for this post lol I had 2733 points available and cashed them in right away. I’m surprised I finally caught a decent VIP rewards for once . I’m going to add it to my order for the new flowers this Valentine’s

  6. KatM says:

Thank you Jay! I usually don’t like microscale builds but it totally works for the World of Wonders. I’ll pass on the Birthday diorama. Are there any offers or GWPs available? Thanks!

  7. Sebastian Kupka says:

    What region are you in?
I cannot see them in reward center for Germany, or Slovakia.

  8. Andrew Gardiner says:

Thanks for the heads up Jay, I wouldn’t have found it otherwise.
This is a good move by Lego. Luckily I still have VIP points available. If this becomes a regular feature we will have to choose between keeping say 3000 points just in case or use the points towards a cash discount.
