LEGO Looney Tunes Minifigures are coming soon! Meep Meep!

April 3, 2021 By Jay 28 Comments

Update: Check out my LEGO Looney Tunes Minifigures review to see more photos of the minifigures and what I thought of the entire series!

Brickset has given us our very first look at the upcoming LEGO Looney Tunes minifigure series, which sees 12 iconic characters from the Warner Bros cartoon series.

The box which was acquired from a store in California shows off all 12 characters in the series:

  • Bugs Bunny
  • Daffy Duck
  • Wile E Coyote
  • Road Runner
  • Lola Bunny
  • Tweety
  • Silvester
  • Marvin the Martian
  • Speedy Gonzales
  • Porky Pig
  • Petunia Pig
  • Tasmanian Devil

The release date for these should be 1 May 2021 which is when new minifigures series get released.

From the box, we can also infer that LEGO are using the foil blind bags (instead of the Bandmates Blind Boxes) which should be a relief as you’ll be able to feel the minifigures you want.

Just like the recent Series 21 Minifigures, there will be 36 minifigures in each box, which should HOPEFULLY mean 3x complete sets, lest any shenanigans occur.

Super exciting to get our first glimpse of the next Collectible Minifigure Series!

I’m a little surpised they included Lola and a fullsize Tweety. For scale it is odd. They could have done a baby or animal tooling with a Tweety head since they areadly did this for the full size. It feels like they tried to pairings. Foghorn Leghorn and HeneryHawk would be a great duo. Yosemite Sam, Duck Rogers, Michigan J Frog, Sam the sheep dog, and Elmer Fudd would be a great start to wave 2.

I wish the roadrunner had been a new animal mould instead and come as an accessory to Wile E. Coyote

WOW. This is fantastic, we are big Looney Tunes fans, it would be great to see a second wave of the rest of the gang. Even better would have been the 36 pc make 2 sets of 18 pcs in each box. I love it. Can’t wait!!

Well, this is nice! They’re coming out around my birthday! I know what I want now!

When (hopefully not if) they do a second wave, I hope they’ll fill in the roster and maybe add some from later cartoons. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot would be nice, along with Slappy Squirrel, but we really do need Elmer Fudd, Granny, and that big dog she had. Oh, and Bugs and Elmer in different opera outfits!

This is the BEST minifigure series ever! I’ve wanted these ever since the beginning of the Minifigure collector series. Sad Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn and Pepe aren’t here. Hopefully they’re in the 2nd series

I guess the characters with some controversies (guns like Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam, and the recent issue over Pepe Le Pew) have been left out.

Thank you for the information on a new set of minifigures. I hope I can get all 12 for my students. They will be excited to see the Looney Tune characters. This will be a great writing activity.

You’re welcome – these are pretty cool! Are Looney Tunes still popular among kids?

Interesting to see who was included and who was left out. I would’ve expected Elmer Fudd over Petunia Pig (I don’t remember her at all). The head moulds are on point, not so sure about the standard legs for Road Runner. I’ll be after a few of them, mainly Sylvester, Coyote and Marvin.

Perhaps LEGO was testing the waters with the blind boxes for the Bandmates. I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually go to that for environmental reasons, probably will happen when the inner bags are all paper based, if not sooner.

Isn’t elmer fludd the guy who’s always hunting bugs? If so then his exclusion is criminal!

Yeah, Elmer Fudd is an odd exclusion given how important he is as a character to Bugs! Road Runner looks a little weird and I would’ve liked him to be a singular moulded character to maintain his slender appearance.

Really excited to see them in the flesh!

Agreed that Bandmates was a test, possibly to see how customers would react and if it would affect sales. I still think they’ll eventually phase out blind bags – hopefully with a way to still identify minifigures.

You gotta save some popular characters for series 2.

Loving the look of these! But maybe not the full rrp price. They look fantastic but I do wish that road runner had more appropriate legs (I can live with Daffy Duck having minifigure legs). Definitely on my must have list! And there seems to be enough missing characters for second set. Hooray!

Yeah, Road Runner is a little odd – I would’ve rather a fully moulded character for Road Runner. I guess the characters being cut is a direct effect of having only 12 characters to choose from in a series.

Have there ever been fully molded minifigs? I think Lego could or should have modified their 12 selected minifigs to include the left out characters. I think I read somewhere that the amount of minifigs in one series varied at some point. $4.99 is already expensive for many of us so I hope they don’t further raise the price. I’m excited that this series is coming out and will hopefully be getting at least a couple of them.

Not from LEGO.com in Australia. For full boxes, try an independent retailer like I’m Rick James Bricks!
