LEGO Star Wars celebrates Christmas with 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama

As we hurtle towards the holiday season, LEGO have also unveiled 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama, a new seasonal Star Wars set that’s based on the Disney+ LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special which aired on November 2020.

It features a small but recognisable portion of the Millennium Falcon, which is all decked out for Christmas Life Day, complete with Chewie feasting on a succulent roast porg turkey.

40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama will be released on 1 October 2023, and will be available directly from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store. As its set number begins with a 40XXX, it might mean that it’s a LEGO exclusive, so might not be available at other retailers.

The big drawcard of the set are two exclusive seasonal variants of Rey and Finn, both of whom are sporting Christmas jumpers. Rey has the Millennium Falcon on her, and Finn has the Rebel symbol, and there are some nice Easter Eggs like the sacred Jedi texts included in the set.

Rounding out the minifigure lineup is Chewie, a porg and BB-8, making this quite decent value!

The photos make it seem like Rey is wielding a trans-green lightsaber, which is quite inaccurate as she had her yellow lightsaber in the holiday special, so I hope it’s just a wonky render, and that the blade will actually be frosted yellow.

But that said, it’s great to see Finn with his very own lightsaber!

I think the 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama goes quite well with the 2023 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar and it’s a great little festive addition for LEGO Star Wars fans, plus who doesn’t want a Christmas-themed Millennium Falcon interior!
