Official images of LEGO Technic 42145 Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter and 42144 Material Handler now available

After popping up in a digital LEGO Catalogue a week ago, we now have official photos of 2 new LEGO Technic sets – 42145 Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter and 42144 Material Handler which should be available from August 2022.

It’s great to have the hi-res photos, which showcase some of the mechanical functions and features – I believe the ability for the rotors to be adjusted is a brand new feature that’s new to Technic helicopters.

With this LEGO® Technic™ Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter set, you’ll build your own search and rescue helicopter. See how the different parts work together – just like they do in a real helicopter.

Features and functions include a spin rotor, tail rotor, retractable landing gear, cowling, winch and spinning engine.

Do you love mechanics and engineering? Then you’ll enjoy this action-packed build!

The LEGO® Technic™ Material Handler set gives you a fascinating look at how a material handler vehicle really works.

It has lots of manual and pneumatic functions so you can explore how this mighty vehicle sorts, piles and loads scrap materials ready for processing.

Thanks to Racing Brick for the heads up on this

Been a while since I’ve seen a pair of new Technic sets that really excite me. The heli looks great and I have the old one which was one of my favorite Technic builds. So it needs a companion.

The material handler is interesting because it clearly uses a lot of the pneumatics (which I’m glad are coming back more ). It looks like it has an unusual amount of mechanical complexity (a good thing in my opinion) in a smaller set with a relatively small piece count. We’ve seen some big sets (trucks and construction equipment) but those are big heavy expensive sets; this looks like an opportunity to experience some of the mechanical “fun” in a relatively small build.

These look amazing, especially the chopper!

Though 8856 could also adjust the rotor blades, using some flexible pushrods that I haven’t seen since… wonder what happened to them, as I thought it was a great idea!
