The LEGO Kingfisher (10331) is a lifelike LEGO Icons take on the natural world

After conquering the world of Botanicals and Flowers, LEGO now has their sights set on the animal kingdom with 10331 Kingfisher Bird, a small but dramatic life-like take of an Azure Kingfisher emerging from the water with a small fish in its beak.

The 834-piece LEGO Kingfisher is part of the LEGO Icons theme, and will retail for a very respectable US$49.99 and has a release date of 1 February 2024.

While LEGO has taken on plenty of brick-built animals in the Creator 3-in-1 theme, this is the first time that we’ve seen it under the umbrella of LEGO Icons, which adds an extra layer of life-like and aesthetic beauty to this LEGO Kingfisher, designed by Sven Franic.

With its wings outstretched, small reeds behind it to give it a sense of scale and place it among nature, and splash of water at its base, the LEGO Kingfisher makes for a terrific display piece for birdwatchers and fans of nature.

The LEGO Kingfisher measures over 21 cm (8 in.) high, 31 cm (12 in.) wide and 17 cm (6.5 in.) deep

The Kingfisher itself is such an iconic bird and one that’s often the subject of bird photography because of its ability to dive into water and emerge triumphantly, fish in beak, and I really like how LEGO have captured this moment in brick-form, with the Azure Kingfisher’s wings and colourful plumage on full display.

Check out more photos below which showcase just how cool the LEGO Kingfisher looks as a display piece.

LEGO Kingfisher from RLM Days

Here are some additional photos of the Kingfisher that I took at RLFM Days 2023, when LEGO invited an exclusive group of Fan Media to Billund in september last year to preview some of the exciting 2024 releases!

10331 Kingfisher Bird will be available from 1 February 2024 onwards from LEGO.com

What do you think of the LEGO Kingfisher? Will you be adding this set to your collection?
